DeSantis says Trump should've given up power like George Washington after election loss and January 6: Florida Gov. takes a dig at rival for trying to overturn the election instead of acting like a Founding Father

For the first time, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has criticized former President Donald Trump for refusing to concede power following the 2020 election – in a generalized comment referencing events more than 200 years ago.

DeSantis, who condemned rioters inside the Capitol where he once served, but has said little about Trump's push to have courts and allies toss out the results, made remarks during an interview with Piers Morgan, where he also blasted Trump administration chaos.

The talking heads all think that a successful fraudulent election should simply stand, that it is too complicated to overturn it.

I’m amazed at that thinking. The robbers made it out of the bank with the money. Forget about it. Too messy to go after them. Drop it.

The murderer hid his tracks. Don’t bother, then. Stop looking. Too complicated.

So DeSantis is not at all concerned with election fraud, that’s a strike, a swing and a miss.

"...before he makes Trump look like the better candidate."

The Delicate Don has already told us he is better than Washington and Lincoln. As he was first modeling his new super hero tights and selling us images of himself imagining he's our savior.

When America actually needed a hero, we got the DS Don!

The guy who poured more sewage INTO the swamp than any R president in history.

All he had to do was swoop down and trip up one little swamp demon, Lex Fauci.

Instead Trump gave that well known devil the keys to the kingdom. And gifted him and BigPharma, via your pocket, with an anti-science poison to help destroy the West.

The dangerous populist did it for votes.

And STILL brags about his Warp Speed failure.

He is either not well or simply not honest.

Ron's clever compliment/dig combo regarding Washington and Trump was nothing. He as plenty of real ammo. And plenty of time.

Keep digging Ron!

Donald Trump, best president since George Washington! A real close second!

“...given up power like George Washington” after election loss...” and January 6: Florida Gov. takes a dig at rival for trying to overturn the election instead of acting like a Founding Father

Trump WON! Trump didn’t try to “overturn the election”, he tried to claim his stolen VICTORY.

I have thought highly of him as a governor.

This is his second awful response in a week.

He's showing he's not presidential material. Going RINO is not the way to go, and there he goes.

No way. It would not pass. He is doing good for Florida now so lets not screw that up. If he runs for President, just don’t vote for him in the primaries. Problem solved.

RE: No, the Nomination must be earned.

And I agree. Donald Trump has earned this shot for the presidency. How? By taking the incoming fire his first term with all it entailed: the loss of value to the Trump Organization, the character assassination, the legal harassment, the opposition from his own party, the 24/7/365 fake news attacks, the treachery and subterfuge within the White House and congress. And yet he willingly seeks the office again, knowing the hell he and family will go through again.

And why? What’s in it for him? Two reasons. First, love for America. Second, ego. He wants to go down in history as the man who saved America and revived American greatness.

The Tuffle with France was about unpaid Debts, and American honor. Jackson was able to solve the situation without war.

Better to judge one by what they DON’T say……what is Ron’s opinion on the election, war and deep state?

Only a politician needs a handler because honesty is frowned upon. Like or hate Trump, he refused handlers…..making him real and transparent and alienating at times BUT that’s the trade off.

Ron’s apologists are saying he misspoke or his ‘handlers’ are misguiding him. How about Ron just being transparent and presenting HIS opinions and visions?

Not gonna happen……because he is a shiny new politician made in Lobby Town

Trump gave up power on January 20th. DeSantis is channeling uniparty nonsense.

Yup I knew he did not believe in anything but a few piddly cases of vote fraud. But he is even worse than I thought. This country needs someone to take on the corruption. Desantis is not it. Personally I already think it is too late most likely. No time to play with Desantis.

Yes, this.

For someone who went to Yale, this is pathetic.

Washington did not WANT to be president, and voluntarily left as soon as was practicable after two terms when he could have stayed til he died;

There was NO fraud involved in Washington stepping down;

There was one GA ballot irregularity, but Jefferson did not pursue it.

Someone of Washington’s own party and, for the most part, similar politicalo philosophy replaced him-—not a communist spoogeknuckle biddlestoper who is brain dead.

It’s astouding RDS would make these comments.

Just showing how he needs to stay as governor of FL for the time being.

Definitely not ready for prime time as POTUS.

Unless it’s a Romney type. They have to let the occasional Republican win to keep the illusion going.
