For the first time, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has criticized former President Donald Trump for refusing to concede power following the 2020 election – in a generalized comment referencing events more than 200 years ago.
DeSantis, who condemned rioters inside the Capitol where he once served, but has said little about Trump's push to have courts and allies toss out the results, made remarks during an interview with Piers Morgan, where he also blasted Trump administration chaos.

I’m sorry but not surprised he’s who he is — and glad he’s revealed himself this early.
I think it should be clear, that Trump was tipped off about DeSAntis’s plans, and decided early on to shoot some artillery over his bow.
There’s a number of people, probably 5% who think DeSantis is the next coming.
However, I’m seeing less and less enthusiasm for DeSantis since he started this ill-advised attack of Trump.
Every dog has his day, and it looks like DeSantis, like Cruz and Rubio and Jeb Bush, has decided to go head-to-head with Trump.
I’m not a paid advisor, but this will not end well for DeSantis. THIS WILL BE THE SHORTEST PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN OF ALL TIME, AND WILL NOT EVEN GET OFF THE GROUND.

What a fool. Who else stood up with such courage after a stolen election.
Trump DIDN’T loose. He won.
President Trump did NOT attempt to overturn the election.
He courageously insisted that it be carefully examined to determine whether massive fraud had illegally placed Biden in the Presidency instead of the truly elected Trump.
This was a profoundly important issue which should have been thoroughly and honestly evaluated and should have been the top priority of the entire US Government, the American People, and the US Free Press.
Instead, dangerously and disgracefully, this fundamental and existential issue was covered up and obfuscated by corrupt people and an honest and thorough examination prevented.
All Americans should have demanded such an examination.
All Americans should have demanded that truth be exposed.
Those who prevented it succumbed to some of the the worst and most destructive influences of corruption, political manipulation, propaganda, dishonesty, and cultural decay in American history.
Nothing is more important than the integrity of US elections.
Those who prevented the pursuance and exposure of truth regarding this election are themselves guilty of the worst perfidy and should be prosecuted for election interference and complicity in election fraud.
Well, I’ve been back and forth abut RDS, mostly because I like “Mr. Anti-woke” (even though I know the “woke” issues aren’t important to our rulers), and because, at least with huge legislative majorities, he can get things done.
But I think this should just about be the end for him. Too bad.
This brings to mind the incident back in 2016 at the Iowa Caucus, when the Cruz team spread false rumors about Ben Carson dropping out of the race.
That’s the day I said goodbye to Cruz, and got on the Trump train.
This has the same feel to it. Very disappointing.
