NBC Journalist tweets that life was grand before the white people ruined 'this land'

NBC News contributing “journalist” Simon Moya-Smith, 39, who is also a lecturer at the University of Colorado at Denver, recently put out the following tweet:

“Before white people came to this land, there were no jails, no homelessness, no laws against homosexuality or abortion. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples emphasized health, housing, freedom to love who you love and the fact that we need Mother Earth. She doesn’t need us.”

This is an example of what we call “fake news.”

There may have been a dearth of jails, but prisoners of war could be captured, tortured, enslaved, or killed. Some tribes had “Blood Laws,” which referred to the widespread practice, particularly in the southeast, of revenge killing. Under this system, when someone killed a member of a particular clan, people from the offending clan had to kill one of their own to balance things out. (I’m guessing there was much debate about whom to sacrifice, not least amongst those who were in consideration.)

Some tribes were nomadic, but others lived in tepees. Tepees were made of animal skins and/or blankets wrapped around wooden poles and were typically about 10 feet in diameter. No doubt, a man’s tepee was his castle.

I always find it funny how some people seem to think that if white people didn’t come here, all of North and South America would be filled with people happily foraging for their food, having dogs drag their travoys, and living in huts, teepees, wigwams, etc. They never stop to consider that North and South America would have eventually been found by someone else, quite possibly the Chinese. I wonder how the Indians would have faired under 500 years of Chinese rule.

People who get to write articles like this do so with amazing blindness to the truth... and that is how you get to a position to write articles like this. You dig your eyes out with your own two hands and grope around feeling where the money is. Your bloodied hands have the money, but you will never see again. These are sick, stupid demented people. We should feel sorry for them and have contempt for their stupidity and greed.

And the current information being disseminated about them IS BS. I really can’t stand morons like the Caucasian Faucahontas Warren who claims to be part Indian. Cherokee princesses must have been very abundant in America at one time but apparently went out with the buffalo when the white man decided all these millions of buffalo were going to screw up the ozone with their flatulence if something wasn’t done.

Yep. I once read an article about a French fur trapper who worked the Great Lakes around the time of the American Revolution. I can’t remember the names of the Indian tribes in the article, so I’ll just use A and B.

Well, one day the trapper went to visit his friends at Tribe A and couldn’t find them anywhere. So he canoed down to his friends at Tribe B.

“Where is Tribe A?” he asked the chief of Tribe B. “We killed them all,” the chief replied.

“Before white people came to this land,..." this simpleton would not have even been worthy of being kept as a slave by a conquering tribe.
