Trump Suggests ‘Termination’ of U.S. Constitution Allowable over 2020 Twitter Scandal [UPDATE: The author is spinning. Trump's actual words are now posted below.]

Former President Donald Trump suggested the “termination” of the United States Constitution could be allowable in response to the bombshell report that the Democrat Party colluded with Twitter to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story before the 2020 election.

The former president made his observation via his Truth Social account on Saturday following journalist Matt Taibbi’s thorough report on Twitter’s internal communications during the 2020 elections at the behest of newly-minted CEO Elon Musk.

The author of the Breitbart article above is spinning (lying). Here's what Trump actually posted.

Is this much different than Lincoln declaring that the Constituion isn’t a suicide pact?

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of that, either.

but the sentiment is the same.

The constitution was made by man and thus can’t conceivably predict every possible future situation.

Justice might in some cases require looking past the limits of the constitution as written and not allow it to be used by those who wish to take our rights and freedoms away from us while hiding behind it.

Maybe the military is getting ready to step in...

Depends on what you mean by "step in".

I’ll bet you’re going to memory-hole the subject, aren’t you?

Sure looks like it.

I still disagree. Why else this,

“ UNPRECEDENTED FRAUD REQUIRES UNPRECEDENTED CURE!“

The cure being suspension of the Constitution (as it pertains to elections) so that either a new election can be held election or the results thrown out and the rightful winner installed.

You have to do a lot of spinning to conclude Trump is not stating the fraud by the Dems justifies such actions. I am not denying the fraud I am denying that Trump is not advocating a very wrong remedy.

You are correct. The elected President is by virtue of his office the CIC. Both offices share compensation.

Awww, look who was all-in on President Trump in 2020.

Now eat your peas and quit bothering the adults.

I don’t see how anyone can read what Trump posted and not see it for what it is (a call for “termination of all rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the Constitution”). Even in the case of “fraud”, as noble an intent as that may be, if successfully prosecuted, what does that achieve? A country led by a person with no historical authority. A dictator. By definition. It’s the plan reading of what he said. In my opinion at least.

I’m not here to debate this or anything today though. So you and anyone can reply as you wish. I was struck though re-reading Article 2 section 1, this stands out even more now given this topic: Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:– I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

This is the duty of the president above all others. I think everyone seriously considering he “didn’t mean what it appears he said” rethink at least, that the very oath he took Jan 2017 would forbid what he’s suggesting. Even in the case of “fraud”, even if one argues the “fraud” nullified the Constitution already.

What does everyone on here stand for if not the inviolate nature of the Constitution? What does FR stand for if not that?

“Fraud”, even if it existed enough to have altered 2020, doesn’t nullify the Constitution. If it did, then any Democrat could claim there was fraud in a future election and etc. Does no one here find this slope just a bit slippery? Even if Trump is saying what so many seem to want to make him say (despite the plain reading of his words otherwise) then what’s the “game plan” here? Trump for President for life!?

When does this madness end? Sigh. Maranatha Lord, truly maybe it’ll come to that first before all this craziness from everyone stop.

False equivalence. The “unprecedented cure” can very well be constitutional since the goal is restoration of the Constitution itself.

Are you engaging in fraud denial? I hope not.

First, you need to work on your insults. Mine were way better.

“And now I’ve concluded he has lost it. Lost his mind. He’s going off the deep end.”

“He was THRILLED by the results of the election last month!”

He didn’t give the left the satisfaction. He dilluted their messaging. The left committed fraud and cheered it as a glorious victory. The GOP set the fire, put the fire out and blamed Trump.

...and you bought the whole enchalada.

“He’s He attacks any Republican who might be a threat to him winning the nomination”

He warned Desantis who handed him the Governorship of Florida to stay in Florida. Go tell your boss you applied for his job, see what happens.

“wants people “installed” after they lose an election and now wants to suspend the Constitution and have Himself declared President!”

Our elections are rigged, the evidence is everywhere. If you can’t admit this then your a troll or willfully ignorant Courts bury challenges and we the people are left disenfranchised. The left actually suspended the Constitution by certifying elections by denying legal challenge where fraud was demonstrable.

You are the worst kind of denier, you deny that you’ve been ripped off and believe the one guy fighting back hard aganist it all is CRAZY.

Voted for Trump? Trump yard signs? BS

“Hello, DoD? Take this Drew-ling slob back to the skunk works, thanks.”

Not going to defend Trump's "Platinum Plan" for black reparations?

Copy. Roger that.

And regarding post #528... As I've posted multiple times here, I enthusiastically supported Trump with both my money and my mouth (and my votes) in 2016 and 2020.

And like many others who did the same thing, I'm looking elsewhere in 2024 because Trump has passed his prime and he can't win.

That is a well articulated thought provoking sentance.

Sounds to me as if he is saying massive fraud violates all the rules, regulations and the Constitution. Not that HE wants to violate rules, regulations and the Constitution.

"And like many others who did the same thing, I'm looking elsewhere in 2024 because Trump has passed [sic] his prime and he can't win."

President Trump was 74 in 2020, 76 now, and will be 3 years younger than Biden in 2024.

You never present a cogent argument of any sort, being ridiculously off-topic in this thread, and yet you keep coming back to me for a curb-stomping. Happy to oblige.

Trump recognizes we are on the midst of a Constitutional crises.

The Constitution was set aside to get Biden elected. Fully half of the population had their 1st amendment rights removed by the government.

Only a democrat would label an election as being unconstitutional.
