Rick Scott Positioned to Become Senate Majority Leader
The Floridian ^ | October 27th 2022 | Javier Manjarres

Posted on 10/27/2022 12:36:13 PM PDT by Jacquerie

With Republicans poised to win control of the U.S. House of Representatives, and possibly the U.S. Senate, could Republicans winning control of the Senate usher in Florida Senator Rick Scott as the new Senate Majority Leader?

Former Senate Majority Leader and current Minority Leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell, is considered persona non grata among most voting Americans, and many Conservative Senators in Washington for his open opposition of former President Donald Trump.

President Trump has been at odds with Sen. McConnell since the 2020 Presidential Election, and after McConnell all but blamed Trump for inciting the January 6 Capitol Riot, the gloves came off.

McConnell is on record of saying that Trump was “practically and morally responsible” for the Capitol riot.

“The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president,” said McConnell.

Just because McConnell is the current Minority Leader in the Senate, it does not guarantee he walks in as Majority Leader.

Remember, while he was Majority Leader during the Trump administration, Republicans accused McConnell of not doing enough to support the America First agenda Trump championed as president.

But even though McConnell has recently claimed that he as the votes to become Majority Leader again, there is a quiet groundswell of support for Scott to lead Senate Republicans.

Scott is a staunch ally of Trump, and the former president has previously called for McConnell to be challenged and ultimately replaced.

For those of you living under a rock back in 2019, then-Senate Minority Leader McConnell worked feverishly to defeat a young, conservative political newcomer named Marco Rubio in favor of then-Republican Governor Charlie Crist.

I wouldn’t argue with that. It’s an important part of his
job, but it’s not 100.00% of his job. It’s very small
important part of his job.

Pointing that out was fair.

Trump appointed them. McConnell did his job. Roe v Wade
is history.

I agree with your conclusion.

He’s just not aggressive enough. He more often than not
makes complaints about our side, and very seldom does he
plant one on the Democrat’s nose.

That’s why I reference him as their “B”.

Of course Rick Scott would be better. Mitch is from the Bush era of doing things and should have been replaced once Trump won.

Why not Ted Cruz?

Because his fellow Republican senators hate him?

Without cocaine Mitch there is no endless confirmations of Trump judicial appointments.

That was a debt owed, and paid. It's not going to repeat.

It's time for McConnell to step aside and let younger, fresh blood take over.

The House doesn’t choose their Speaker nor does the Senate choose their Majority Leader.

The Chamber of Commerce anoints them.

The reason he has so much sway in these elections is he controls the Senate campaign finances. He had some major hand in crafting language so that only he could say who gets any money.

It’s his way or the highway because of that.

It has occurred to me that McConnell knows that if the Rs take a majority with several new senators, he will be relieved of the leadership. It may explain the odd moves he has made in financially supporting some older RINOs (Murkowski, etc). Having more of the old guard around may insure that he is elected to the majority leadership instead of being cast aside by the Trump-leaning newbies.

Bill Haggerty and Rand Paul are probably the best we’ve got right now. The rest of them are bad to awful.

The old fart McConnell won’t fight for winnable seats because the candidates, in his crap opinion, are not electable, such as in NH, WA, AZ, AK, PA, etc. The candidates were chosen BY THE PEOPLE of those states, and there is absolutely no excuse for the RNC not to get behind these candidates. Republicans could easily take back the Senate were it not for this back-stabbing traitor.

Here Are The 11-Points In The Plan:

Education
Color Blind Equality
Safety and Crime
Immigration
Growth / Economy
Government Reform and Debt
Fair Fraud-Free Elections
Family
Gender, Life, Science
Religious Liberty and Big Tech
America First
Here Are Scott’s Points Of Focus:

Every child in every school to say the pledge of allegiance, stand for the national anthem, and learn that America is the greatest country in this world.
A complete end to racial politics.
Treating Socialism as a foreign adversary and we will use all force to stop it from destroying our country.
The end to our economic relationship with communist China.
Term limits not only for politicians but also for government bureaucrats.
Common sense…such as…men are men, women are women, there are 2 genders…and science confirms that unborn babies are human beings.
A complete end to voter fraud and for protecting the integrity of our elections.
An end to the foolish soft-on-crime policies that are destroying our cities and killing innocent Americans.
Securing our border, building the wall, and naming it after President Donald J. Trump.
