Democrats hold 3-point advantage on generic congressional ballot ahead of midterms

Forty six percent of registered voters said they will vote for Democratic candidates in the midterm elections, a 3-point lead over Republicans, according to a Politico-Morning Consult poll released on Wednesday.

The pollster has asked the question weekly as the elections approach, with Democrats holding a slight lead in each iteration for more than a month.

Forty three percent in the latest poll indicated support for Republicans, while 12 percent said they didn’t know or had no opinion.

A majority of voters — 53 percent — who ranked the economy as their No. 1 issue favored Republicans, with 34 percent of those respondents supporting Democrats.

Voters who ranked energy, education, health care, Medicare or Social Security as their top problem, however, favored Democrats.

Real Clear Politics lists all the polls. The last 8 show R+3, D+1, D+3, D+1, R+1, R+5, R+1, R+2.

The running average shows R+0.7.

Generally, the polling favors Dems. D+3 in the polling usually means tied in the election.

Awww Geez......this is getting ridiculous. It’s a real shame when political rags whore themselves out for the sake of election deceit.

I’m a former Democrat, and when I get polled asking who I am voting for, I always enthusiastically answer with the Democrat candidate. I like surprise election results.

(oldtech): but I have to think that any folks with any common sense will NOT vote Democrat this time around.

(FlipWilson) They put their polls out not to reflect, but to influence public opinion.

I agree with you both. I've just come to believe that we are now enveloped in a constant 24/7 manipulation scheme. The polls ARE out to influence public opinion. But, perhaps it works. The poll is enough to feed the media, which blabs on about the polls, which rockets over to multiple biased social media platforms, which manipulates the gullible public, which turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Everywhere you turn you can see people getting riled up and manipulated to think in one way or another. Technology has allowed us to manipulate on a scale never seen before.

It's getting more and more difficult to believe that common sense will prevail. I suppose I'll hold out hope.

You say? REALY? Go for it.
