OK so they call up 300,000 un motivated conscripts, what do they arm them with? That is the real problem for the Russians. They are running out of tanks, APCs, mobile artillery and maybe more important artillery shells. These guys are literally going to be cannon fodder. I suspect the next tranche of western gear will be aircraft. A few surplus A10s would blow up whatever is left of Russia’s modern artillery.
I think Putin is beyond desperate at this point and his days are numbered. But I may be wrong. Even if he survives I see this mobilization as too late in the game to affect the outcome.
Russia is widely hated. Its people should have ridded themselves of Putin at some point, but they didn’t. Putin acted like a civilized person for some time, but he was still a KGB killer and torturer at heart. Now Russia is royally screwed.
Not surprising, nobody wants to be drafted against their will. If they instituted a draft in the US or EU, you’d see young people in these countries do similar.
Last time I checked, those guys are undefeated in world military history. We're looking at a humanitarian disaster in that neck of the woods.
