Oregon to spend $100 million on charging stations in hopes of attracting EV drivers

Oregon is hoping to attract more drivers to purchase electric vehicles with its plan to add hundreds of charging stations across the state.

The $100 million program, which aims to provide electric vehicle chargers every 50 miles along Oregon’s highways, was approved by the federal government Wednesday.

“We’re trying to address a little bit of this chicken and the egg. What comes first? Do people have the cars or is the charging available? We know that charging is key to people gaining confidence that an electric vehicle is something that can work for them,” Amanda Pietz, an administrator at ODOT, told KOIN.

The program reportedly includes funding from state and federal resources, including $36 million from the Oregon Department of Transportation, $65 million from the federal government via federal grants with matching finds from local governments, and an additional $20 million from the Federal Infrastructure Act.

What comes first is a reliable source of energy. Then, a reliable way to distribute it.

We will all be pushed into having an EV at some point. Alternatives will be eliminated.

EVs will limit distances subjects can travel in a given time. This is good for state monitors.

EVs will cost more, therefore limit available funds to the subjects.

Most importantly, EVs will enrich the left and their donors.

No amount of inconvenience or suffering will matter to the rulers. The media will constantly flood the subjects with positive messages about the virtue of owning an EV.

When all current gas stations have the same amount of charging capability and I can charge my 2015 F-150 in 10 minutes and get a range of 700 miles, and the price is the same as a new F-150 I will consider buying one.

They need to install 110 outlets and USB chargers on these stations, too. The homeless can charge their phones, plug in their space heaters, and if you tip ‘em a couple of bucks, they’ll watch your car while you go shopping.

Do you think, as do I, that “global warming” is the most successful hoax in the history of mankind? Our world is being overturned in furtherance of this complete scam. Future generations will read about this period with amused horror: “How could those ancient 21st century people have been so gullible?”

Maybe they can employ all the homeless working the charging stations.

“Oregon to spend $100 million on charging stations in hopes of attracting EV drivers”

Why bother ‘attracting’ anyone when they have a CAPTIVE AUDIENCE. Since, as I understand it, they are bound by California’s decision to outlaw gasoline cars by 2035.

The ultimate goal is to push us into government run public transportation. That will be the most efficient way to transport us from our 500 sq.ft. apartment to our government job every day.

Meanwhile, Portland, the premier Oregon city has gone to hell and is irreplably damaged in innumerable ways by the Democrats who have totally lost control of the cities destiny

**We will all be pushed into having an EV at some point. Alternatives will be eliminated.**

I’ve still have two saddles and assorted tack. No horses though. There’s a neighbor up the road with several horses and doesn’t ride them at all. Just pets. But I need to get a buggy to satisfy the wife.

For comparison, one gas station can store underground the energy stored by 97,300 Tesla PowerWalls.

See my #7. The trouble with hiring the homeless is that they can’t be relied upon to show up. Build an attractive nuisance, and there will likely be a few hanging around, though.

I assume these EVs have a safety system that won’t allow it to move while its plugged in.

A tornado or hurricane come to town, leveling power lines, tossing wind turbines and solar panels into the next county. Just fire up the generator.... oh, wait, those will be outlawed too.

That would be the case if this was really about saving the planet.

But it’s not, is it. Any more than CoupFlu policy is about protecting public health.

This is about limiting freedom of movement.

And when one understands that, this makes perfect sense.
