Yeah, Trump's Dr. Oz Endorsement Probably Cost Us Pennsylvania and the Senate
PJ Media ^ | 08/18/2022 | Stephen Green

Dr. Mehmet Oz, who earned former President Donald Trump’s primary-race endorsement in April, is going down in flames according to a new GOP poll.

Republican-affiliated Public Opinion Strategies reports that surgeon-turned-TV-host Dr. Oz trails Democrat John Fetterman by nearly 20 points!

Trump gave Oz his “complete and total endorsement” before the wide-open GOP primary of six candidates, a move that probably sealed the deal with Pennsylvania Republicans.

The doc won in a squeaker, barely beating out second-place finisher David McCormick, 31.2% to 31.1%.

The former president praised Oz’s positions on abortion, crime, the Second Amendment, border security, the military, education, energy independence, and election fraud. Those are all well and good, but before lending an endorsement, someone in Trump’s position first needs to determine whether the recipient is at all likely to win the general election.

In Dr. Oz’s case, right now that’s a big, fat NO.

Let’s face it: He is not a good candidate.

After winning his primary, Oz went AWOL.

While Fetterman was literally incapacitated by a stroke, the doc failed to capitalize on a prime opportunity to define himself and his prone opponent:

Recent reporting suggests that Oz might not have taken advantage of those several weeks where Fetterman was sidelined, a significant span of time during a race that could be integral to party control of the Senate.

Puck is reporting that the former TV personality was in Palm Beach, Florida, until June 9 at least, not holding his first post-primary event until June 10. Oz reportedly also traveled to Ireland to visit family at the end of June and did not return until early July.

Yes, don’t forget, Dr Azz praised China, praised Fauci and fully supported lockdowns, masking and mandates.

Well those T people need to be content with Fetterman as their Senator! Oz was endorsed by Trump and running against a guy who let mass murder slide (Wolf allowing COVID positive patients into nursing homes) to save his career!

Ok, well then Oz is not really down by 18 then is he?

No, the more realistic number is around 10 points down. Far more than Mastriano who is less than 5 down.

What were they thinking?

The law matters more than politics?

Oz was endorsed by Trump....

Dr Azz is an illegitimate candidate. He barely campaigned and both Trump/Hannity undercut Barnette by LYING about her, then blocking her from responding.

After election day, Dr Azz stood around while McCormick was looking for extra votes. Trump had to tell Dr Azz to declare victory, but he did not. He waited until McCormick exhausted all avenues of counting.

Dr Azz is useless. He has less energy than Jeb Bush and more entitlement than Hillary.

Can not understand Trump endorsing Oz?
He makes Romney look like a member of the TEA Party.

DJT also endorsed Doug Mastriano.

He only did so after it was clear that Mastriano was going to win the primary by a large margin. Trump didn't help Mastriano at all.

When you try to Google Dr Oz’s schedule for campaign stops, you get all kinds of links to pro-Fetterman articles and anti-Oz. Big Tech has its thumb on the scales once again.

Stupidest thing I’ve ever read on here. That kind of thinking is why we lose all the time! No reason this could not have waited until after the midterms. It’s backfired horribly btw.

Barnette is a nutjob who would’ve stuck her foot in her mouth and hurt Republicans nationwide! Why do you think the media was pushing her so hard? She was another Todd Akin or Christine O’Donnell/Sharron Angle! She also would have ZERO support from the RNC placing her right in the position we are now. At least Oz has Trump’s support.

Have you checked his campaign schedule and news? Based on a cursory check he has been campaigning around the state. Fetterman has made one campaign appearance in three months. No MSM interviews. There are plenty of articles by the local media with Oz.

I think this is premature.

The true extent of Fetterman's debilitations are not widely known yet.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if PA Democrats are scrambling for a Lautenberg of their own to substitute in October.

Not according to Mastriano. Mastriano was thrilled to have 45’s endorcement.

Trump held off endorsing because of Lou Barletta.

https://www.pennlive.com/news/2022/05/trump-mastrianos-big-base-and-loyalty-to-election-integrity-led-to-his-endorsement.html

Anyone gassing out their sewer pipe about Trump waiting too long on Mastriano, is full of feces.

No reason this could not have waited until after the midterms.

Well take it up with Clarence Thomas, Amy Coney Barrett, Sam Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch.

You do know that that SCOTUS term ended on June 30th, right? So it couldn't wait.
