A Florida teacher is facing criminal charges over allegations she bit two students in a dispute over a jar of pickles.
According to WFLA, Bartow police and the Florida state attorney's office have filed two misdemeanor battery charges against Polk County educator Rhonda Rice. She is due to be arraigned on March 31.
The charges relate to an alleged incident that took place at Bartow Middle School in October 2021.
Kathy Toro told WFLA her 15-year-old nephew and another student were allegedly bitten by Rice, who was working there as a teacher, after she attempted to take a jar of pickles from the school store the pair were manning at the time.
When the two students tried to take the jar off Rice, she allegedly bit them both.
Toro told the news outlet: "She just bit them on the forearm and, of course, they released and she was able to get the pickles but there's other ways to do that."
The incident was reported to school administrators who contacted Toro. She subsequently filed charges with Bartow police in November 2021.

ARTH from March 2022.
Give the groomer 30 years!
Well there’s a headline you don’t see every day
“she attempted to take a jar of pickles from the school store.....”
When I went to school all you could get from the school store was paper, pencils and pens........I must be getting old
We already had Florida Man and Florida Woman. Now we can add Florida Teacher.
Aside: Am I the only one bugged by the word “educator”? What’s up with that? What’s wrong with “teacher”?
LOL, same here.
Biting is actually serious. We had a student assistant at work who was studying law enforcement and dreamed of being an officer. She took up a part time job as a large store security officer.
Along with other daily crimes one woman had some stolen items on her and the student identified herself and held her outside the doors. The woman took a really hard bite at her forearm that bled a lot. She somehow held the woman as police arrived.
The student was forced to have HIV/AIDS testing and wait for a certain amount of days, along with herarm damage and her stitches messing up her college class work which was now one handed. Plus she was shaken up. Welcome to urban police work.
Thanks be to God she was okay.
Never underestimate the disease that urban types are carrying, though.
I swear the teaching profession draws in the strangest people, and that is putting it nicely.
Wait, was ice cream involved? Pickles and ice cream... Was she pregnant?
Another stupid ass “educator” lol
According to the Daily Mail she’s 63.
i am still waiting on the update from the guy who acted like Florida man when he knocked over his mother’s casket, broke a water main, and knocked over grave markers in a dispute out in richmond, CA
Someone even took a cane to him to try to get it to stop. one mourner brought a stun gun in case something happened
Sweet or dill?
That and the candy sales done by various school clubs trying to raise money.
It is serious. Look up microbiome. Everybody is a walking Petri dish.
My dad told me it was a union thing. The idea was that to elevate the profession (and make room for higher dues), the union apes thought "EH-jiew-kay-tor" sounded more elevated than the term then (and still) in use, which is pronounced "TEE-chuh."
(Pssst! TEE-chuh's comin'!)
