An Oregon state agency has dramatically reduced the penalty it issued to a Gresham bakery that refused to sell a same-sex couple a wedding cake nearly a decade ago.
Oregon Labor Commissioner Val Hoyle announced Tuesday that she had slashed the penalty for Sweet Cakes by Melissa from $135,000 to $30,000 in response to a Jan. 26 ruling by the Oregon Court of Appeals.

If this guy has said “Yes, I will bake you a cake.”, they would have turned around and walked out. It was never about wanting a cake.
$29,999 too much.
Not only was this unfair, but the plaintiffs should be sued by this baker.
If I recall the details, they went to almost 2 dozen different bakeries, and tried to provoke them.
They finally went to this one and, despite him offering to sell them any of the ‘standard’ cakes he bakes, they insisted on a CUSTOM cake with a message he felt was against his religious beliefs.
They should be sued for harassment, for deliberately trying to set up this confrontation.
$30,000 too much.
the first “bake a cake for fags” case according to a report was that the poofters researched how many Christian bakers there were by looking at social media etc. They knew it wasn’t about the cake when there were close to 30 cake making bakeries within 30 miles.
They went out 50 MILES for the first one who on the phone who told them no. That’s why I hate these pukes.
It’s about their hatred of Christianity.
Any penalty above $0 is unjust.
Hmmmm. I wonder what the internal polling might be telling Val about her race for Congress. She’s up against Alek Skarlatos in OR-4.
Funny how a muslim bakery was not targeted.
Exactly. And if it had, and the bakery refused, would a court ever have ruled against the bakery?
Any cake I was forced to bake for a Sodomite pretend wedding would include the verse from Leviticus 18:22 in red frosting. If they don’t like it they can have their money back.
I wonder if I went to a liberal’s bake shop and ask them to make a “Pro-Life” or Ban “Pro- Choice” cake and if they wouldn’t would they get fined out of business.
Absolutely correct> He did not refuse to “sell” them a cake as the headline erroneously states! He refused to make them an obscene cake that went against their religious principles. Pure and simple harassment.
Seriously, there's no way they should keep losing in court.

Now that the court has found that the Oregon Dept of Labor had bias and discrimination in their original ruling, the cakemakers should file a lawsuit for their own damages.
Too bad that the Baker is in Montana now.
He should have made the cake.... but doing a really really bad job.
Not again. People stuck in same sex activities are spiritually doomed, intellectual dumb, emotionally screwed up and physical hosting thirty diseases. Thus, people stuck in ss activities are pushy and bossy. You want a gay cake? Sure, fill out an order and I’ll call you when it is done. Next customer please.
People should really not go out of their way to antagonize folks making their food.
