On New Year’s Day, Rep. Val Demings (D-FL) tweeted: “Fighting inflation and lowering costs for the middle class must remain a top congressional priority going into 2022.” Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) also rang in the new year by tweeting about inflation: “Rising prices and inflation won't be going away with the start of the New Year thanks to #Bidenomics.” So did Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN).
Now that the midterm elections are just a little over six months away, inflation is dominating the political discourse, but new data shows it’s not dominating the discourse evenly.
Republicans are talking about inflation six times more than Democrats, whose control of the House and Senate are at stake......
By focusing so intensely on high inflation, Republican lawmakers could be paradoxically playing a key role in making sure it sticks around, since inflation expectations are widely considered to directly influence actual inflation. When businesses expect higher inflation, they adjust prices accordingly, which can then lead workers to demand higher wages, creating a phenomenon known as a wage-price spiral that’s hard to control. One such cycle established itself during the so-called Great Inflation of the 1970s and '80s. And the media and politicians talking about high inflation is a major way to “anchor” an expectation of high inflation.

At least they’re not blaming it on Putin.
Yeah, and the airlines are mentioning that you must wear a mask while flying at least that many times during their "safety" announcements. It's pathetic.
This article is a steaming pile of BS.
Well that’s what happens when the value of the dollar goes down. People talk about inflation. I always say “it’s going to be worse than the Jimmy Carter years.”
Nice try Fortune. Now do “racism!”
What a crock of crap.
The problem is, they aint telling the “REAL RATE” of inflation.
Which would be at around 15 to 20%..

Inflation articles daily. Sounds like the media is at fault for the reason they’re saying repubs might be at fault.
Almost like it’s the economy, stupid. 😏
So this mediot’s premise is that if we would just shut up about inflation it would go away by itself.
Got it.
Well...yeah!
“Talking Down” the Economy Isn’t a Thing
...but I guess my challenge to them is this: can you name a single recession ever that was triggered by talk? They can’t, and they know it.

Fortune says sssshhhhhh! The emperor has no clothes.
All this does is shorten the time before the equilibrium between printed money and the market price happens , if anything. Inflation is essentially a tax on the poor. Keeping the public ignorant about the true nature of inflation is just one of the many lies the Democrat propaganda machine routinely does.
What morons. Biden and the Dems restricted capacity while injecting trillions of helicopter money into the economy. Their solution to inflation is to spend more money.
They try to steal an election, then they institute a coup against an elected President, then they did steal an election while crying racism, racism, racism......
They lie, you can tell because their eyes are open and their lips are moving.
Every now and then something like this occurs and one is given to hope that ‘... maybe the Rs have gotten of their collective phat-a$$es and put together a plan ... ‘ then after reflecting a bit you say ‘Nah-h-h’ ... They would rather serve in H3ll than rule in heaven.
Closing your eyes and keeping your mouth shut is better than a Whip Inflation Now button.
Biden/Dems are still using
RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA
PUTIN PUTIN PUTIN,
even more than TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP.
Hilarious! “Republicans are causing inflation to stick around by talking about it.”
Yeah…..cuz I’m sure Biden’s policies had nothing to do with it. I’m equally sure that if the tables were turned Democrats would be too gentlemanly to mention it.
