Why it matters: Moderate and progressive Democrats, particularly in the House, are fearful of an electoral tsunami this November. They tell Axios they're unsure whether the party can repair the damage in time.
"People are extremely discouraged, there's no doubt," said Rep. Annie Kuster (D-N.H.), a moderate and leading member of the New Democrat Coalition.
Kuster was among the NDC members who met with President Biden on Wednesday and urged the administration to take action on supply chain and inflation issues, gas prices and a budget reconciliation bill.
Rep. Susan Wild (D-Pa.), a swing-district member, told Axios's Andrew Solender the poll gives credence to her distancing herself from Biden: "It’s always a concern when the president's numbers are bad and you're in the same party."
"In my district, and I think in most frontline districts, you win your campaign because people know you know what work you've done, … and they also know that I don't always vote in line with the party.

Just how many House seats do you think are out there that the Dem didn’t win by over 5% in 2020? The GOP can take the House by winning about 7 seats (assuming there will be a death between now and then, there usually is each year).
You think 20% margin districts, mostly urban, whose citizens ride subways and don’t even drive and have no interest in gas prices, are going to flip? Don’t be absurd.
Come the day after election day, the GOP will have taken the House. By less than 10 seats. And the media will celebrate the Dems having achieved a miracle. They might gain a Senate seat, too.
And you think there’s going to be a big victory party? How? How are those urban seats going to flip?

The press keeps writing about Democrat chances. “Moderate” Democrats vote the straight Pelosi line. They are to the left of Daniel Ortega. Most of them cut their teeth worshipping him.
It’s a mixed bag,, We are voting and rooting for GOP betrayers and numbskulls to put their finger in the dike. Regardless the Dems will continue to rule by decree and appoint madcap judges who will curse us for decades.
But in 1994. They never thought they would lose. Here, they have to cheat district by district in the house. Since they have mastered cheating at the state level, they can easily hold the senate.

This is one of the things I fear the most from cornered rats. They absolutely would do this if they thought they could get away with it, and maybe even if they can’t.
