If you had “It’s time for women to play Major League Baseball” on Friday news cycle bingo card, it’s time to collect your winnings.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, exuberant over the end of the 99-day lockout, said that not only will it be great to see the “boys of summer” again, but he also hopes next year to see the “boys and girls of summer” playing Major League Baseball.

I used to say I could never be a MLB player from all the times the coaches and players pat each other on the butt.

Nail on head. The Guinness World Record for fastest pitch by a female was 69 mph by Lauren Boden of California back in 2013. At the recent 2018 Women’s Baseball World Cup, Australian National Team starting pitcher Brittany Hepburn registered the fastest pitch of the tournament at 76.4 mph. At the major league level, the players would tee off on that speed a pitch. The average jugs gun in the league in 2021 clocked in at 93.5 mph...with movement. The fastest recorded softball pitch is 77 mph. But the average pitching speed for college softball ranges from 58-65 miles per hour, taking all divisions into consideration. A far cry from the low 90’s so that 14’6” feet will be made up quickly.

The only way a woman could be competitive is with a really live knuckle ball. But the players have been conditioned on hitting movement pitches with splitters and knuckle curves for years.

And I have never met a woman that could catch up to a low 90’s fastball so their hitting is the same result...failure. The average for hitters in the MLB last year was .244. That meant that they failed at getting a hit more than three quarters of the time with men’s strength along with years of teaching and practice at the skill. Women would be blown out. Too much upper body strength required and the women aren’t strong enough at lower body for this.

Don’t know how they would survive. But after the first one, if he threw a breaking pitch the batter would be on the ground out cold from faint.

Of course the next step will be when girls are at bat:

1.They are allowed 4 strikes

2. They are walked on 2 balls ( no pun intended )

3. They only have to run to 2nd base for a home run

4. All players in the outfield have to move into 2nd base

If a girl can make a team go for it. But not gonna happen if you go by same parameters they judge men players by. Girls don’t even play d1 travel ball much less college or minor leagues

This moron worked for the Transit Authority, and the NYPD. No day is boring if you are on the lower part of the ladder. But when you become a law enforcement supervisor, there's only two ways you can go:

1. You never forget where you came from, and continue to have the backs of the officers you are supervising, or...

2. You become a "yes man" and an ass-kisser so you can continue on up the career ladder, because those higher jobs are political appointments.
