In a translated Facebook post, the Ukrainian government said it was grateful for Penn being there. He was lauded as being more courageous than Western leaders.

Too bad his documentary of Khashoggi examining why Assad was still in power etc never got off the ground. But that was allowing another better financed filmmaker to go ahead with the story instead. Hope the one on Ukraine becomes realized.
