Canada’s Justice Minister, David Lametti, has told Trump supporters who donated to the “Freedom Convoy” to “be worried” about having their bank accounts frozen.
Speaking with CTV News, when Lametti was asked if regular citizens who donated to the “Freedom Convoy” protests in opposition to the vaccine mandates should be worried about having their assets frozen by the government, Lametti singled out pro-Trumpers. The reporter asked:
You just compared people who may have donated to this to the same people who maybe are funding a terrorist. I just want to be clear here, sir. A lot of folks say, ‘Look, I just don’t like your vaccine mandates and I donated to this, now it’s illegal, should I be worried that the bank can freeze my account?’ What’s your answer to that?
“Well, I think if you are a member of a pro-Trump movement who’s donating hundreds of thousands of dollars and millions of dollars to this kind of thing, they oughta be worried,” responded Lametti.
Lametti also said that truckers could lose their trucking license if they participated in the protests or if their company permitted them to participate in the protest.

I just looked it up and the current reserve requirement is 0%. This means banks are required to hold no cash to back any deposits. I wonder what would happen if there was such a run that a bank had no one to sell their liabilities to? Would your mortgage and loans just go away?
Cash out and buy money orders or wire the money. Use a credit card. There are ways around identifying bank accounts.

This response of freezing funds was planned long ago, at least after Trump became president. Certainly after COVUD restrictions dragged on. I think they thought citizens would protest much sooner and that the protest would begin in the USA. Canada was not on their radar.
Bringing up Trump supporters sounds like a script they were handed. Wrong country, same draconian response. They have been chomping at the bit to grab our $$$. Political disagreement/conservative “enemies” is an excuse.
The end might be generations after us, like us politically, shoved into camps. Or not. There is not easy way out, and the US has probably no chance of reversing course. Too much of the country is lost already, and there is only one winning political party, and it isn’t the GOP.
I've been thinking that since Biden purloined the Oval Office I just haven't had the courage to cash everything out.
Truthfully the first time I thought about it was about nine months before the election. Mentioned it to a good friend who immediately replied "you should do that before the election."

“be worried”. Ok. And I just stopped being worried now, since the Lord is in charge and I work for Him. He protects the innocent and dooms the guilty.
Ah, but what if other countries donated to foreign people protesting against our borders, against enforcing our immigration laws? We’d be upset and put a stop to it—at least I think we would. Maybe you and others say foreign funding is actually okay and should be encouraged?

I donated to the Canadian truckers, I’ll donate more to the US truckers if they shut down DC, and I really don’t care who knows it, reports it or investigates it.
If they can coerce banks they can coerce other financial entities. But some entities are happy to persecute without being coerced.
