S national security adviser Jake Sullivan warned Americans in Ukraine on Friday to leave within one to two days, spelling out what a Russian attack on the country could look like -- and that civilians could die.
"Any American in Ukraine should leave as soon as possible, and in any event in the next 24 to 48 hours," Sullivan said. "We obviously cannot predict the future, we don't know exactly what is going to happen. But the risk is now high enough and the threat is now immediate enough that this is what prudence demands."
"If a Russian attack on Ukraine proceeds, it is likely to begin with aerial bombings and missile attacks that could obviously kill civilians without regard to their nationality. A subsequent ground invasion would obviously involve the onslaught of a massive force," he continued.
Despite that message, Sullivan added that it's not clear if Putin has decided to invade Ukraine.
"I want to be crystal clear. A final decision has not been taken by President Putin, but we have a sufficient level of concern based on what we're see on the ground and what our intelligence analysts have picked up that we're sending this clear message and it remains a message that we have now been sending for some time. And it is an urgent message because we're in an urgent situation," Sullivan said.
Later, he said there was a "very distinct possibility" that Russia would act militarily, but couldn't pinpoint when or how.

The situation is urgent because Putin may invade within hours but we can’t predict the future so we don’t really know how or when he will invade.
Ukraine’s Zelensky already told Biden to STFU on the “imminent invasion” thing last week. Its destroying Ukraine’s economy. Ukraine’s defense minister has said he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.
Biden has completely lost Germany, France, Hungary, Bulgaria and other NATO countries on this narrative as well.
So why are the DC neocons persisting with this?

If Vlad is smart, he’ll do nothing. He can do it later but right now make the US Leadership(using the term loosely) stupid.
Don’t look at the excalating outrage over the Covid vaccination deaths and mamings, or mask muzzles that Democrats impossed.
Don’t look at the economy in a near state of disaster.
Don’t look at the midnight flights of illegal aliens being salted in key swing states.
That’s what’s going on.
Any Russian attack would begin with massive artillery and missiles strikes, then followed by air strikes on the remainder of targets.
Wish the innocents of Ukraine well.
Of course an attack would start with air strikes—or more accurately a concentrated and coordinated missile attack.
The blitzkrieg part of this would take about a week. The occupation meat grinder starts shortly thereafter.
Someone needs to shut this Sullivan guy up.
