IIRC, wasn’t it the Baltimore Mayor who said that she wanted to give the protestors “room to riot?”

A few years back I spoke to a teacher from this very school. He complained on and on about the facilities and funding, as if a few dollars more would fix the student body.

No wonder the education associations (aka teacher’s unions) are so against standardized testing. No wonder progressives are so against SAT tests to be used in determining who gets into college.

Removing standardized testing is like smashing the instrument panel in an aircraft. Blocking knowledge of failure does not prevent failure.

This has been going on for years in democratic run cities….in the 1950s black schools were as good as white schools…

There will be further disappointment if the same tests were given to the teachers.

Affirmitave Action and teachers unions have destroyed American public schools.

Advancing ones self has come to be seen as 'acting White' and failure is rewarded as a rebuttal to such undesireable attributes.

Sitting on the front porch collecting a government handout is an acceptable way of life.

This is why all the folks I know in Baltimore, Glen Burnie, etc... send their kids to private school. Even if they aren’t Catholic, they attend Catholic schools.

The reason…..in my humble opinion, the parents belief in government to do the job and lack of incentive of parents to participate.

Yep. Parents have abdicated their responsibility in disciplining their children. Teachers and principals are handcuffed when it comes to trying to educate feral children in a classroom. So they just "manage" them until they "graduate".

And they will be your “leaders” in 10-15 years through AA programs.

This society needs to be destroyed.

"A few years back I spoke to a teacher from this very school. He complained on and on about the facilities and funding, as if a few dollars more would fix the student body."

A few years ago I met an elementary school teacher at a party. He began droning on about how they needed more money. I asked him what he'd do with it to improve the school and he had no ideas. He had never even thought about it.

I suspect the "money ask" is part of their training.

Are there any statistics on educational performance publicly available from the “separate but equal” days?

“You have to wonder what % extends to the teachers?”

I doubt that even 50% of teachers and administrators can read at the 12th grade level. Anyone who disagrees should run the tests and prove me wrong.

Children trapped in hellhole schools can't read, write or do math - - but each one of them knows 'Thomas Jefferson had children with a black slave" and that they - even at the tender age of 12 - are 'oppressed' by white people.
These students are the product of our commie 'elites' in action...

“Looked up the demographics for this school...Almost 90% black and Hispanic”

Still, this is INTENTIONAL. When my kids were growing up and going to Christian schools, I, personally, saw an all-black Christian school cleaning the clocks of the mostly (maybe all) white other Christian schools. My kids could beat them, but that was only because I was giving the same type of instruction as the black kids were getting, but more intense (which was not the case at the whites schools, as they only used ‘proven’ curriculums - meaning public school type).

If we want blacks to succeed, blacks will succeed...but we’ve handed education to the Left, and they have a different agenda for black kids.

“Do you think any of these parents care at all about their child’s education?”

Yes, mostly, and when they’re young (although I’ll concede that the parents likely give up when they start looking like Travon Martin). But they’re clueless as to what to do, and the Democrats are keeping it that way.

Maybe the teachers unions are right. The kids are probably better off if public schools stay shut down.
