An armed good Samaritan intervened by shooting a man who was allegedly stabbing a woman at a gas station near Waco, Texas, on Friday.
KWTX reports that the good Samaritan “witnessed a domestic violence incident” about 7:40 p.m., wherein a man was allegedly stabbing the woman.
The Waco Tribune noted that the attacker was allegedly “chasing the woman into the store” when onlookers called 911.
Officer Officer Garen Bynum said that officers were responding to the scene when they learned a “separate third-party individual had intervened in an attempt to defend the female victim by shooting the suspect with a handgun.”
The alleged attacker and the stabbing victim were taken to the hospital with “severe injuries.”
In a Waco Police press release Officer Bynum also noted that the good Samaritan remained on scene to talk to police officers:
The third-party individual remained on-scene and is cooperating with the investigation. That individual was released from the scene after speaking with officers and has not been charged with any crime. The original suspect who was transported to the hospital is in custody and will remain in the custody of Waco Police officers while he continues to receive medical care for his injuries.

Or with a knife! Good guy wins.
Has the Good Samaritan been arrested yet?
Odd, I don’t recall the Good Samaritan shooting anybody in the Bible....................
Note the location of Waco ... Texas... and one of the sane (i.e., not Houston or Austin) parts of the State.
Well, it’s Texas so the Good Samaritan has a chance of staying out of jail.
He would have if he had arrived three verses earlier in Luke 10:30 instead of 10:33 :-)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😜................................
The term means someone who helps a stranger in trouble. If that help is blowing some perps head off, the official Society of Good Samaritans still says that is a qualifying task.
This is Texas, not Calif, NY or Wash.
Well noone was inmthe act of stabbing the victim In the bible at the time- the good samaritan might have shot the perpetrator if he had arrived onmthe scene while the crime was taking place, while others just stood around and avoided helping.
Woops, someone already said it. Doh, ima day late dollar short
Last question first - don’t think he can (I’m not a lawyer and anyone can sue anyone for anything, the law determines what gets thrown out) be sued. Also, remember that the target was moving and chasing after his victim - your typical range does not include moving targets, so more range time may not help and moving targets are hard to hit for almost anyone.
Um... no, Waco is not one of the sane parts of the state. Remember, Waco decided it was a great idea to arrest everyone in the general vicinity of a biker event that became a crime scene even if they weren’t involved, ruin their lives, refuse to release ballistic evidence then after the cases fell apart in court, refused to return bikes, other seized property or even apologize.
in an *attempt* to defend the female victim
no attempt, a SUCCESSFUL defense
they just can’t say the words...
Justified use of deadly force.
Civil liability
Hopefully, the third party has a LawShield membership.
I don’t know how sane Waco is, considering they are still dealing with that big biker bust in the courts. Which just affirmed letting / removing a lot of named defendants, but left the old prosecutor (corrupt in my opinion, from what I read about him) on the hook.
