A 39-year-old Utah man is now facing multiple charges after a college student who was missing for five days was found naked and covered in coal inside his home, reports say.
Brent Brown, of Loa, has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, rape, object rape and obstruction of justice following the discovery of a Snow College student on Saturday, according to Fox 13. He is now being held without bail.
The saga involving the student began on the night of Dec. 13, when she was last seen leaving her dorm building in Ephraim. The next day, her roommates reported her missing when she failed to return, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
The newspaper, citing a probable cause affidavit, reported that the student met Brown in an online "chat group" and arranged to have him pick her up on Dec. 13 – but in the following days the relationship became nonconsensual and violent.
Brown allegedly tied the victim up while he was at work, got rid of her phone when he learned police were looking for her, and "threatened her, saying if she left or told anyone about him, he would come after her family and sister," the Salt Lake Tribune reported, citing the affidavit.
Court documents later stated that police used cellphone tower information to track down the victim at Brown’s home in Loa, about an hour and a half’s drive from where she had last been seen, the newspaper continued.
The student was found naked and covered with coal in a basement room after Brown – who answered the door at the home when police knocked – initially told officers that nobody else was inside, the affidavit added.

“Somehow I doubt this experience will cure her. In fact, I’ll bet she’s already looking for the next adrenaline fueled sex high.”
I would hope her parents intervene and obtain a conservatorship to help protect her from herself.
Back in the 1980s the daughter of a university professor in New York State was kidnapped by a man who demanded that she shoot him to death, threatening to come after her family if she refused. So she shot him...but it must have been a very traumatic experience. As far as I know there was no reason why he kidnapped her rather than someone else.
Much too old for one of them.
AGreed. The press is making sure her humiliation is complete.
Thank God they found her. Keep an eye on your children - especially those who go off to college.
A friend’s niece, who was a very sweet girl, involved in the church choir, activities and went to church services with her family her entire life - went off to college a few hours away from home. When she was a sophomore, they got the call that she was in a car accident and hadn’t survived. She hit a tree going home very late one night - a one car accident.
Things didn’t add up so one of her relatives worked until he got into her computer using different passwords. Going through her emails, Facebook messages and other interactions, he found that she had gotten involved in drugs, satanic worship and was being traded for sex. There was absolutely no indication any of this was happening and she was in such a downward spiral it became clear that she committed suicide.
College campuses are demonic. Especially with the liberal professors thrown in. Here is a list from a sorority with a point system- catching STDs seems to be a requirement.

You are a top notch parent😊
But that is the point. Many times, like one of the other Freepers is also saying, the detectives do nothing. They figure it is some girl or guy out having fun, or getting away from the parents, or something else.
Many times it takes a lot of screaming to get anything done.
Not like the TV shows where the detectives automatically respond to situation. But the tools are there when the cops/detectives deign to use them.
omgoodness! What a crazy, horrible story. Do you recall if the girl faced any sort of prosecution for the killing?
LOL!!!
Some of the freakiest chicks I've met were Mormon girls going through their rebellious phase (they all eventually return to the fold).
Fun girls! Damn...
You squeeze on that balloon too hard, it bulges out on the other side. That repressed sexuality has to go somewhere...
Yes. My 1947 vintage 2nd house in Pocatello has a coal chute. No longer in use as the city added natural gas lines. Radiators pulled (still have 2" holes in the hardwood floor where the radiator pipes passed through). The boiler is gone. A 95% efficient natural gas/forced air furnace does the job now.
Utah may well have active coal heating via radiators. I've seen long lines of coal cars coming from WY into the SLC area.
I saw a prepper type on a video that bought a couple of dump truck loads of coal at 35 dollars a ton. Had it dumped into a big hole in his backyard and covered it in dirt.
Ten tons of coal in his own personal backyard coal mine in case of end of the world.
Amazing.
Here ya go...the ultimate survival prepper! 42 buried school buses.

It’s probably only inhabited by rodents these days.
It’s Utah. Plea deal in 3,2,1. Death penalty off the table - too much work for the prosecutors.
Sadly common in captive, traumatically abusive circumstances. Evil people get right to work in rearranging the minds of their poor victims.
Modern political and socio-cultural agendas interfere with journalism in the weirdest of ways.
