Back in the 1980s the daughter of a university professor in New York State was kidnapped by a man who demanded that she shoot him to death, threatening to come after her family if she refused. So she shot him...but it must have been a very traumatic experience. As far as I know there was no reason why he kidnapped her rather than someone else.

omgoodness! What a crazy, horrible story. Do you recall if the girl faced any sort of prosecution for the killing?
