Rittenhouse says he's destroying gun used in fatal Kenosha shootings

Kyle Rittenhouse said he is destroying the rifle he used to shoot three protestors in Kenosha, Wis., last year during an appearance on the conservative podcast program, "The Charlie Kirk Show" on Tuesday.

Speaking as a guest on the program, Rittenhouse said, "We're having [the rifle] destroyed right now. We don't want anything to do with that," while discussing how the lead prosecutor in his case, Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger, brought the AR-15-style weapon into court.

Rittenhouse expressed that he was shocked when Binger pointed Rittenhouse's rifle "at the gallery."

Well, do believe I read the rifle jammed on him, so I would not trust it unless I rebuilt it from scratch.

Damn straight! I would be sleeping with it very close like a kid with a safety blanket knowing that it is a very effective and valuable tool in the protection of my life and that of my family. My warm and fuzzy is slightly different that the norm, I guess.

You got it.

I took that comment as just being made up because someone thought it sounded good. Certainly do not know much about how the military works.

What in God’s name are you talking about? You seem to be projecting your nonsense onto me. Just go away and stop trying to start fights with people.

“I bet he’d get at least $25k for that rifle”

My opening bid would be $100k.

Doesn’t work.

Mastering it is the only way, with Divine help.

But I understand the sentiment and PR optics in his situation.

Jeez, I’m surprised you didn’t throw in an “I’m rubber, you’re glue” in there. Sorry if everyone on this forum doesn’t agree with you 100% on all things. You’re just going to have to deal with that.

And when you post you shouldn’t be surprised and butt-hurt when someone replies to that post - especially when it is a ditsy post.

You don’t get to tell people not to reply, Snowflake. Been here long?

Pretending you don’t understand the reply is pathetic.

He tries, but appeasement is never a good strategy. The left won't care and will take it as a sign of weakness.

Randy doesn’t understand your post logic or the implication that servicemen get to keep and destroy their weaponry. You give him a headache.

You are playing Checkers, he plays Chess. That rifle will never be used against him in some future trial, nobody can examine it further and gin up some BS theory about a hair trigger, an illegal set-up, etc etc.
800 bucks is a cheap price to permanently dispose of something that has the slightest chance of being turned around on you in a future courtroom.

2 weeks ago he was facing life.

He’s talking about physically destroying the gun. Other posts in the thread had additional questions about his being able to get evidence from a trial to do that.

As for letting go of the past, they never will unless they are having memory loss like Alzheimer’s. I’ve known hundreds that have gone through PTSD and have learned to work with it by controlling the symptoms for most (about 90%) with drugs, but never to be rid of it.

So claiming to destroy the gun as a symbolic thing doing nothing but wash his hands of what he did is just a farce. What he’s saying is he did something terribly wrong and he wants it to go away. (The action of a child) And since he will probably be brought into a wrongful death suit he is throwing himself on the mercy of the court by doing this. It’s a con. He’s a punk kid who lied about his being there, going there for something he wasn’t mature enough or legally able to handle, with a weapon he shouldn’t have had, and a parent that even drove him there and condoned the possessing of a gun to get into trouble. And that goes past the line of child endangerment.

The whole thing lacked truth across the board. He went into a riot zone knowing he could get into trouble with no horse in the race, lied about his being a medic, and carrying a gun that he had to know was going to get him into an altercation. An adult would have. In modern times, most combat medics carry a personal weapon, to be used to protect themselves and the wounded or sick in their care. By geneva convention this is limited to small caliber firearms such as 9mm pistols. Not AR’s.

But he’s just a poor child. Manure. Two people were killed because he did this. And people are celebrating the verdict? I can think of two families that aren’t. And when all the evidence is tossed back into the suite, like the gun or questioning why he is there at all overstepping the work of law enforcement, he’s toast.

People have compared this to the Simpson trial. Notice Simpson lost the wrongful death actions. There is aother case of displaying the difference between criminal and civil law.
