Experts believe they’ve finally found one of the holiest sites in the Bible — miles from where it was previously assumed to have existed.
A biblical archaeologist organization, The Doubting Thomas Research Foundation, claims it has found the actual mountain where, according to the Old Testament, Moses lead the Israelites – a mountain that was enveloped in smoke, fire and thunder – and where, at the top, Moses received the Ten Commandments from God.
But in actuality, the society now claims, Mount Sinai, one of the most sacred places in the Jewish, Christian and Islamic religions, is Jabal Maqla, which lies in the Jabal al-Lawz mountain range in northwestern Saudi Arabia.

Well, if Moses led his people to freedom from Egypt, and parted the Red Sea to do so, then it would make sense that they ended up in Saudi Arabia.

A lot depends on the starting point while fleeing the Egyptians. Sinai makes more sense, and having been to the top of that mountain, the power is still very strong there.
Also, the Burning Bush is still inside the monastery - and it is the only one in existence.
That’s been argued by archeologists for sometime now !
I saw a documentary long ago that detailed that there was a place in saudi arabia that was mt sinai and detailed the travels of moses from Egypt.
Moses tended his uncle’s sheep for forty years “in Arabia”.

It doesn't have Eritrea. Ethiopia is now a landlocked country. The most populous one in the world.
Where did you get the map. Eritrea came into existence before widespread use of the internet.
This is not news, but probably is not familiar to most people.
