Trump Wins CPAC 2024 Straw Poll By 49 Points, DeSantis Second At 21%, Mike Pence Gets 0%

Trump Wins CPAC 2024 Straw Poll By 49 Points, DeSantis Second At 21%, Mike Pence Gets 0%

Mike Pence and Greg Abbott got 0% of the vote.

45th President Donald Trump easily won the CPAC straw poll asking attendees who they would prefer to win the 2024 Republican nomination for President with 70% of the vote. The only other potential candidate coming close to being competitive is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, with 21% of the vote. The overwhelming number of potential 2024 opponents received 0% of the vote.

Voters were asked “Thinking ahead, if the 2024 Republican Primary for President in your state were held today among the following candidates, for whom would you vote,” and were given a total of 19 choices including “Other.”

President Trump won with 70% of the vote. DeSantis came in a distant second with a mere 21% of the vote. Six more candidates tied at 1%, including Sen. Rand Paul, anti-Trump former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Sen. Ted Cruz, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, and Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. It may be noteworthy that Cruz received only 1% in his home state.

Trump wins the CPAC straw poll by a whopping 49 points with 70% of the vote. DeSantis a distant second at 21%.

Every other candidate – all 10 of them, plus “Other” – received 0% of the vote. It is particularly noteworthy that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has repeatedly come under fire from conservatives in his own state for failing to secure the southern border and failing to protect children from chemical castration and gender modification surgeries, received 0% of the vote. Another noteworthy 0% potential candidate is Mike Pence, who has been branded a traitor to America First following his decision not to contest the Electoral College tallies from states with credible reports of widespread voter fraud on January 6 of this year. Since then, Pence has postured strongly for a 2024 run for President. This is down from the still-embarrassing 1% Pence garnered at the CPAC held earlier this year in Florida.

As National File reported at the time, in that poll President Trump received 55% of the vote, with DeSantis – perhaps boasting a home state advantage – received 21%. Cruz fared better in Florida than Texas, receiving 2% of the vote. Abbott also received 0% of the vote in the earlier poll.

Also among the 0% candidates are Ben Carson, Sens. Josh Hawley, Marco Rubio, Tom Cotton, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, and anti-Trump Sen. Mitt Romney.

A Trump/DeSantis ticket would be absolutely unbeatable.

Well...except by Dominion.

Mike Pence is a linguine spine! Left to himself as POTUS, he would cave on just about everything!

You sound like you’re running cover for the pos though. Will you go on the record right now and state that you believe he treated trump and is a traitor that deserves to die? We’re you one of those Sessions cheerleaders too? lol

Wait, Massachusetts has a R governor? And Maryland too? WHY are these two states so wedded to the D candidate in presidential elections. Makes no sense.

I really want a Trump/DeSantis ticket. Whether it wins is a different story...

Damn criminal Democrat party.

As usual, the headline reveals the bias, even though it is accurate.

If you read the headline quickly, it gives the impression that Trump got 49 points, DeSantis 21 and Pence 0.

Any trick to minimize Trump.

I wonder how accurate the straw polls are, I suppose I could research but I suspect they are fairly accurate in predicting the future viable candidates.

Here it is historically. Really stumbled in 2008 and 2012 when the establishment candidates succeeded: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservative_Political_Action_Conference

“Wait, Massachusetts has a R governor? And Maryland too? WHY are these two states so wedded to the D candidate in presidential elections. Makes no sense.”

Party affiliation is a strange thing among the New Englander “intelligentsia”.
By brother-in-law is a successful surgeon who fancies himself a moderate Republican.

But if you talk to him about anything, it is obvious he is a total rabid Leftist Democrat. He reads the NYT, watches CNN and hasn’t ever voted for a Republican in his life.

Yet, he insists he is a Republican. I think he believes saying that proves that he is “nonpartisan” and “objective” and “moderate” and stuff. He is always accusing me of “blindly” voting for whoever is the Republican candidate.

I think it’s that kind of New England party affiliation confusion that led to someone like Romney winning in MA as a Republican. The same people who voted for Teddy Kennedy voted for Romney.

Oh, please. Glad they got 0%. Was there any way to give them a "no way in hell" number?

Why not put the 70% in the title? Geez.

People who are not math inclined will think Trump only got 49%.

These results are driving the consultant class, GOPe, Chamber of Commerce, EVERY RINO in Congress(most Republicans), the RINO state legislatures-Governors-Lt Governors-AGs-SOSs(most state Republican state governments), Koch,, National Review, Goldberg, Shapiro, ABSOLUTELY INSANE. They’ll never learn.

You know the dems/media/establishment/deep state fear Trump when they are all STILL trashing Trump knowing he will beat them in 2024.
