Chief Justice John Roberts’ refusal to preside over former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial is raising questions about whether he views the first-of-its-kind proceedings as constitutional.
The Supreme Court has been declining to comment when reached by The Post, as well as other outlets, on why its top jurist will not take part in the historic trial.

xPDJT was Impeached as President for actions he took as President, therefore he should be tried as President and the Constitution dictates that the CJ preside, not Leaky Leahy.

The indictment (article of impeachment) is no longer valid as the clock ran out when they delivered it to the Senage after Trump left office. It’s that simple.

Who is the concerned? Surely, no democrat has any concerns with anything in the Constitution or any other laws.

Chief Justice only Presides over impeachment of a “President”, Trump is not a “President”, thus he cannot be impeached.

John Roberts and the supreme court (IMHO doesn’t deserve to be capitalized anymore) are a major reason that this country has lost its representative republic status!

Chief Justice John Roberts’ refusal to preside over former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial is raising questions about whether he views the first-of-its-kind proceedings as constitutional. The Chief Justice presides when the impeachment trial is for a president, not a former president. It could be as simple as that, but it could also be an indication of how Roberts might rule when the matter comes before the entire court.

The USSC has declined comment on why C/J Roberts will not take part in Trump impeachment trial two. C/J Roberts has ALREADY said the Constitution allows the C/J to preside at a trial for a President (for purposes of removal).
Trump is not president.....and he obviously can't be removed.
================================
That cant be any clearer .... unless you are blind w/ hatred like Pelosi and her ilk.
She orchestrated the (cough) "impeachment managers" marching the article over to the Senate.
Her dream of impeachment has now become a huge joke.

Absurd.
The Chief Justice only presides “When the President of the United States is tried”, Donald Trump is not the President of the United States, THEREFORE, there is no requirement for CJ Roberts to preside, end of story.

C/J Roberts has ALREADY said the Constitution allows the C/J to preside at a trial for a President The Constitution not only "allows" it, the Constitution requires it.

Its a Soviet-show trial.
The Founders are proving inspired once again. Power should be distributed to the lowest levels possible. The USA’s present centralization of power in Washington DC is extremely dangerous.
