2) On Jan. 6, all that is needed is 1 senator (Hawley) and 1 Congressman (Brooks) to bring an objection to an elector slate (almost certainly AZ, since that will be the first contested.

3) The rules are made by the previous congress; the laws already in place bind the procedures.

4) Pence has no authority on his own to accept or reject any slate. According to source, he will turn to the Parliamentarian for a ruling on how to proceed.

It is so blatantly obvious that "There is no evidence of a fraud in the amount that could result in an overturning of the election" and then to be given 90 days to find evidence (other than statistical, which is indeed evidence), is a media/establishment disinformation campaign to steamroll the public into accepting the fraudulent election results. I have watched many of the numerous hearings held in several states and have listened to the sworn testimonies of poll workers and legal voters. I have heard and read the mathematical, statistical, and technological voting analyses and reports of numerous professionals in their fields.

I am appalled by the offensive, blatant, election fraud that has been proven to have occurred in numerous state’s and have attempted to contact each of my state’s senators and congressmen.

To reiterate: It is not our privilege to object to this in-our-faces fraud; it is our obligation to object!!!

The courts have already spoken. Even the Supreme Court. They have made it abundantly clear that this is not a judicial matter and they will not interfere in this presidential election.

This election fraud is clearly a battle between the executive branch and the legislative branch.

There’s a lot of confusion on this. Last November, I posted on FR the CRS procedural guidance as you did above but I started a thread with it just to get it out there.

But here’s the thing, the CRS procedural pub is ‘guidance’ only. It is not statutory, it is not binding. Congress can use it to assist but they don’t have to use it.

What is binding is the 12th Amendment:

“The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice.”

Biden has 306 EC votes but if 37 of his Electors are rescinded, then he does not have a 270 majority and the 12th Amendment throws it into the House of Representatives by state delegations in which case Trump wins.

The key to the 12th Amendment working for Trump is to get rescissions from state legislatures. AZ, GA, WI have 37 EC votes so they could do it. PA is looking stronger today.

It takes just one legislature and the rest of the ‘resistance’ in other legislatures will fall like dominoes.

After what Jovan Hutton Pulitzer showed today in GA, the Obama planted ‘Resistance’ should run for the hills or play dumb.

I think he is keenly aware, however, that his reputation as a prognosticator took a hit in November, particularly after many folks on this very forum warned him in October that vote fraud was going to be a huge issue. He seemed to blow off the warning then.

I think LS and many of us still lived in a fantasy world in October 2020 thinking that the deep state wouldn't dare try to steal a national election--particularly one that they were losing badly. We have all learned much since then.

They can bar Pence from entering the chamber, seat a new President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and have the Pro Tempore count the electorial votes. Larry may be correct in what he says from a procedural standpoint and I know that he gets around in high circles (he was recently appointed by President Trump himself to the 1776 Commission, and he knows folks like Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka on a personal level, so he's not blowing smoke with his "high up" sources.

But I think we are looking at this too narrowly. There are obviously other things afoot that have compelled the President to ask his supporters to be in DC on Wednesday (the 6th).

This was not an off-the-cuff statement. Trump has repeatedly urged us to come to DC en masse on Jan 6 and assures us that "it will be wild."

I think all of us can agree that if things were truly as bleak as portrayed by Larry's source, Trump would not be making this call. Does anybody who knows Trump seriously think he would have hundreds of thousands of supporters stand around in the cold in DC for hours, just to watch Congress perfunctorily make Biden the official winner?

Now I don't know what the plan is. Lot of possible scenarios going around on the Internet that I won't get into here because 99% of the them are probably fantasy. For example, one of these theories holds that we will have mass arrests of the coup/election fraud plotters in the days or hours leading up to Jan 6. I doubt anything dramatic like that is in the cards. But I am intrigued in why Trump is so adamant that we be there in huge numbers. If we end up just showing up to his "political funeral", it will be a very uncharacteristic way for Trump to go out.

I shall be among those on Jan 6. We'll see what happens. I have not lost hope.

That is only for a contingent election, where no candidate gets to 270 EVs. House votes for POTUS, Senate for Veep. Here, House and Senate members vote individually on whether to accept or reject the challenge, and BOTH bodies must accept it or we are back to the original certified slate for a particular state.

Sorry, but it is indeed over. If the GOP had been able to take the House, it could have been a different story, but even if Hawley and Gaetz, say, team up for the written protest, it will never pass a vote in the House. And probably not even pass the Senate.
