If only a small minority will support it, then he should just rush through a veto proof bill to declare war, prevent a withdrawal, or whatever other pipe dreams he has.

Total idiotic exaggeration.

The fall of Saigon?

Agree. Totally ridiculous and insulting. It’s clearly not an exaggeration to say that the GOP Senate Majority Leader hates POTUS and MAGA every bit as much as Schumer does.

Withdraw them.

Let Biden re-deploy them.

So he is warning Trump. What will Mitch do, if the President does pull the troops. Most likely nothing. Like every other Senator. All talk.

Which team McConnell plays for was made abundantly clear when he met with Barr... right before Barr changed DOJ policy to allow US Attorneys to begin “investigating” ie., begin interfering with the process, apparently intent on altering evidence and suppressing the evidence of election fraud... prior to the result being certified.

I though Barr worked for Trump, not McConnell ?

The brave American who exposed being told by supervisors to backdate postmarks on ballots in the mail ? With the FBI on the case, they rolled in and tried to employ mind control techniques in an effort to coerce him to recant ?

Mitch... who seems to be acting as a shadow President this week... seems he has as much to lose as any swamp creature when Trump wins a second term ?

Hey Mitch, that’s one of the reasons 71 million people voted for President Trump!

It’s been 17 f***ing years there’s nothing premature about leaving now.

It's been, what, 80 years or so, and we're still in Japan, right?

We'd be abandoning our partners in Afghanistan

From what I've read, there is No comparison between the heroic South Vietnamese people and the back-stabbing, goat kissing Afghans.

Spent 4 years there. It's a complicated situation. To simplify and generalize, nice people and screwed up tribal culture that was knocked back 500 years by the Russians in the 1970's.

After seeing how Trump has handled the Israel/Arabian peninsula situation recently. I would give what ever he has up his sleeve a try. Couldn't be much worse than what is going on right now.

McConnell, Graham, and Rubio don’t want Trump to fire CIA Haspel because she’s been doing their bidding.

I am not sure if they still do but the US Military War Colleges used to teach Baron Carl Von Clausewitz's Principles of War.

In every War since WWII we have ignored at least one if not all four of those principles. Let me think .... yep we haven't won a war since WWII.

We have not declared a war required in the Constitution since WWII as well.

Being a combat veteran of the Viet Nam fiasco I am curious what is the mission in Afganistan?

How can one win a war without defeating the enemy totally? Why do we still support and follow those who can't actually say “when such and such are accomplished we have achieved victory”?

All questions don't really need to be addressed as we don't seem to learn from our history any longer.

I am curious if any one can state the mission in Afghanistan.

Buy a freeking clue, senator. We don’t really have any “partners” in Afghanistan. You can argue that there might be a good reason to stay, but don’t peddle that garbage about there being partners.

It is not a coincidence that Haspel and McConnell are both from Kentucky.

HA! Touche. Lol. I'm just thinking we all said this would happen before the US went in. Or a lot of us said it. They needed to be punished for what they did, but we all knew that, in order to keep it that way, we would need to hold bases in both countries for many years to come.
