WASHINGTON - Despite President-elect Joe Biden’s victory, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday President Donald Trump is “100% within his rights” to question election results and consider legal options.
The Republican leader’s remarks, his first public comments since Biden was declared the winner of the presidential election, come as Trump’s allies on Capitol Hill have been reluctant to congratulate Biden or push the president to accept the outcome.
McConnell said the process will play out and “reach its conclusion.”
Trump has declined to concede the presidential race and is mounting legal fights, but there has been no indication or evidence of voter irregularities or widespread fraud in the election.
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said the Republicans’ refusal to stand by the election results is “extremely dangerous, extremely poisonous to our democracy.”
Schumer said election lawsuits can be valid but they must be based in evidence and facts.
“Joe Biden won the election fair and square,” Schumer said.

President Trump has been bringing up voter fraud long before Nov. 3, and the left had been weirdly insistent that he accept the results without double-checking the entire time.
Afterward, of course, the evidence for that fraud is rapidly piling up. There has been eyewitness testimony about falsifying the postmarks on late mail-in ballots. Election observers were being harassed and kept away from the counting tables in Detroit.
Software glitches have been discovered switching votes from Trump to Joe Biden in Michigan, and the same software is being used in other battleground states.

I assume the polling was coming in telling Mitch that continuing to have Senators congratulate Biden and refusing to support Trump was playing extremely poorly with the base. So he essentially congratulates Biden but says it’s okay if Trump wants to ask some questions for a while. Thanks Mitch, you pathetic jerk.

There hasn’t even been a vote yet. The American people do not elect the President of the United States. The members of the electoral college cast their votes. Those are the only votes that matter. Until those votes are cast, there hasn’t even been an election.
