WASHINGTON For the diversity consulting industry, this summer was like no other. Amid the racial reckoning spurred by the death of George Floyd, a wave of senior-level executives began to look critically at their companies, and consultants like Melanie Miller and Loretta VanPelt found themselves deluged with work.
Then President Trump stepped in.
An executive order, issued in late September as Mr. Trump was stepping up his charged attacks on Black Lives Matter protesters and political correctness, banned the federal government, as well as its contractors, subcontractors and grantees, from offering certain diversity training on racial and gender biases teachings that the order called divisive and a malign ideology.
Such orders, prompted by the presidents fixations of the moment, have been staples of the Trump years and often lead nowhere. Like others, Mr. Trumps focus on diversity training seems to have originated with an interview he saw on Fox News, when Christopher F. Rufo, a conservative scholar at the Discovery Institute, told Tucker Carlson of the cult indoctrination of critical race theory programs in the government.
But this time, the impact has rippled through corporate America, academia and the government with remarkable speed. Two government agencies canceled their sessions with Ms. Miller and Ms. VanPelt within weeks, and two companies put their training on hold. Two more might follow suit, the consultants said.
To see the progress, to see the movement, and then all of a sudden, propaganda, divisive, those words just are so, so untrue of what this training actually does, said Ms. VanPelt, a Southfield, Mich., trainer. If were going to actually have this conversation, move the needle, get people thinking about and doing something about systemic racism, you have to talk about it.

If he can make it stick, this may be one of the president’s most important achievements.
Well said!
Here is the short version of these education “camps”
1. White People are bad!
2. Men are bad!
3. Christians are bad!
4. Straight people are bad!
Therefore white, straight, Cristian men are the worse people of the planet!
My first race relations class with the USAF in 1975-76 was warranted. What the Socialist race mongers have turned that into currently is an abomination.
100% Unmitigated BS. That's exactly what it is. One way street too.
All those bytes just to write “REEEEEEEE”
I particularly liked this one:
“the meaning of scapegoating, which is banned in the order, makes little sense, said Scott Hommer, the co-chairman of the government contracts group at the law firm Venable.”
That’s the primary theme of their ‘training’ regimen — evil white CIS men are to blame for everything. The only things lacking were the required “whitemale” label (a mars symbol?) and the waiting trains.
I will at least agree with Scotty that it makes little sense.
I had to read their headline several times before I realized they were implying it’s a bad thing.
Wrong lady. Talking about “systemic racism” doesn’t solve anything, it just gives credibility to a concept that isn’t real.
How do you end racism? Ask Morgan Friedman, “stop talking about it”. Becoming ‘ultra sensitive and ultra aware’ only makes things worse, because you’re taught to react to situations as though they’re based in racism when they’re not.
You’re only teaching people to have a chip on their shoulder. So when people react to your attitude you assume it is ‘because of their racism’. It isn’t racism. They’re reacting to your attitude, so it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy to the snowflakes.
This is what is so sinister with this message. Making everyone believe racism is everywhere only results with people seeing racism everywhere that is doesn’t exist.
At one point Affirmative Action was the solution but easy to say difficult to get the desired results.
Now we liberal solution 2.1, reinforce White Liberal Guilt and disgrace and humiliation of none guilty Whites.
The trainees will shut up and bare the indignity because they want to keep their jobs.
