The monthly Democracy Institute Sunday Express poll for the Presidential election shows that Mr Trump is still on course for victory with 46 percent of the popular support compared to his Democrat rival Joe Biden’s 45 percent.
However, his overall lead has dropped by two points since the last poll in September.
The poll was completed after the news broke that President Trump and his wife Melania have been infected by Covid-19.
But 68 percent said the illness would not affect their vote while 19 percent said they were “more likely” to support Trump and only 13 percent “less likely”.
Almost two thirds said they felt sympathy and concern for the President while 38 percent said him getting the disease was “karma” in an indication of the current divisive nature of US politics.
Crucially, Mr Trump’s lead in key swing states including Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin remains at 4 percent by 47 percent 43 percent.
This gives a projected Electoral College split of 320 to Trump and 218 to Biden.
While other polls have Biden ahead, the Democracy Institute, which correctly predicted Brexit and Trump’s win in 2016, only considers people who identify as “likely voters” rather than all registered voters and also asks about the so called shy vote.
This shows that 77 percent of Trump supporters would not admit it to friends or family members.

All polls depend on a turnout model.
Since no one knows which model is correct, their absolute value results are not useful. What IS useful is watching repeated results from that same model. Any change is real.
It was amazing on Gutfeld last night, when Greg played a clip from the debate where Joe was talking, but Trump was talking over him at the same time. Greg pointed out how if you watch and listen carefully, Trump not only continued to make his point to Chris Wallace, but was simultaneously listening to Joe and corrected him in real time without missing a beat. Talk about multitasking; it was really impressive. I didn’t catch it at the time when I was watching the debate because it happened so fast.
YES! Turnout and ground game is always the key.
They got it right in 2016.
Obviously past performance is no guarantee.
But, I’ve posted this before. My sources in the financial world who do their own private polling every month to inform investment decisions have told me that Trump will win the EC. They told me that in 16’ and I didn’t believe them.
He’s terrified of the virus, because if he dies, he’ll have to face the Hell that Catholics devoutly believe in. All the dead babies will demand retribution.
But there’s still looting, burning, and screaming at people in restaurants. The first two motivated the Vikings. As for the last, never having tried it I can’t rightly say.

You haven’t be accurate there! Fox is nearly unwatchable during the days weekdays! The evening is all they have left. The only good thing is that they have not gotten poisonous like CNN and MSNBC, Yet!

I think having or not having CV has little or nothing to do with why Trump is winning.
He must be feeling a little off ... no blazer, no tie. But he looks good for a supposedly sick old man ;-)
I saw that and thought he just doesn’t miss.
His ads are very good. They lack the Sanders AOC stuff. Focus on things that are acceptable to a lot of Americans. And they are well placed. Last night while watching Combat on H&I I saw a Biden ad highlighting his efforts to equip forces in Iraq with MRAPs. A very effective ad to an audience predisposed to appreciate it. That is a worry to me. Biden’s ads are everywhere and IMO they are well produced and cleverly targeted.
I cannot argue with you. But, one day, this pig WILL stand before the Holy GOD of Heaven and earth. He will JUDGEE Moore and his like kind. It ain’t going to be pretty for him. The Scriptures clearly tell us that there are various levels of punishment in Hell. To those who are unsaved, but were “good people, who never did bad things, worked hard, loved their spouse and children, gave to the poor, gave food to the hungry, etc., etc.”, then their punishment will not be as harsh as a Mao, Hitler, Clinton, Obama, Biden, Hillary, Moore, all the commies of the left, liberals, abortion doctors, etc. Yes, people who were “good” but unsaved will STILL be in Hell, but not in the hottest parts as those above will. I believe they will be there because they SHOW NONE OF THE THINGS THAT THE BIBLE SAYS YOU SHOULD BE IF YOU ARE TRUELY SAVED!!! The approval of abortion will certainly send you to hell. “Thy shall not MURDER” said the LORD GOD. Thus, if you push and approve abortion, then I would say that you do not believe GOD or His word and thus approve of not following His Laws and Rules of Life. If you don’t follow this one, then what others do they violate???? Many I would say. Violating one makes it easy to ignore the others!! But, the LORD Jesus Christ WILL JUDGE. I would not want to be on the side of the fence that He is JUDGING!!! We who believe have already been judged at the Cross of Calvary. If saved, then we are forgiven and when the Father looks upon us, He does not see us, but He sees His SON, the LORD Jesus Christ. Thus, He does not see our sins, which are forgiven when we BELIEVE, but He sees the SON!!! Once Saved, Always Saved!!!!
No doubt the COVID-19 issue brought a lot of people home who finally had to look at Joe Biden and say “WTF? NO!!!”
