'Everybody dies': Elon Musk says he won't take Coronavirus vaccine and lockdowns have 'diminished' faith in humanity; Calls Bill Gates a "knucklehead"

Speaking on the New York Times opinion podcast Sway, Musk told host Kara Swisher that he and his family would not be taking a coronavirus vaccine because he doesn't believe the virus poses a serious enough risk to their health.

“I’m not at risk, neither are my kids,” Musk said.

Musk said sweeping restrictions on movement and business enacted due to the coronavirus had “diminished" his "faith in humanity." The entrepreneur said that instead of sweeping lockdowns, governments should focus on isolating those most at risk while allowing the rest of society to continue with normal life.

Musk told Fisher that "anyone who is at risk" should be "quarantined until the storm passes." When Fisher said that some people could be more at risk if Musk's idea became a reality, Musk responded that "everybody dies."

Musk, who is now among the richest men in the world after Tesla's valuation skyrocketed to staggering new heights this summer, said billionaire Microsoft founder Bill Gates was a "knucklehead" for suggesting that Musk was out of his depth when discussing "areas he’s not involved in too much."

“Gates said something about me not knowing what I was doing,” Musk said. “It’s like, ‘Hey, knucklehead, we actually make the vaccine machines for CureVac, that company you’re invested in.'”

Of course not. Why would the elites take it? The rest of us will need vaccine passports to get a job.

Musk will likely be richer than Gates a year from now. Will be fun to see how he trolls the entitled brat wonder when he does.

Thats not fair, just because it has worked for thousands of years doesn't mean it is still valid, especially since it doesn't allow for Politicians to impose Tyranny on the Healthy.

He’s a bit off sometimes, but I like Musk.

RE: Musk will likely be richer than Gates a year from now.

Question -— how much of Musk’s wealth comes from government mandates and subsidies?

Musk is pretty much more deserving than Gates. I don’t think Musk really cornered any market like Gates did. Gates and Jobs were in a serious struggle for the PC desktop and Jobs lost, for lots of good reasons. MS has coasted for sooo long on its cash cow Office (that was used as the definition of a cash cow in higher economics at my Texas school) that they can afford to buy almost anything.

It was not unfairly earned, imo.

Well Musk was right on every point in that interview, including calling Gates a knucklehead.

He’s an interesting person, sort of the Howard Hughes of our generation.

This is good to hear. Hopefully this will really help expose Gates and others for what they are.

I’m not opposed to vaccines, but this one is being rushed.

Never install the x.0 version of software.

Never buy a car in its first production year.

In other words: Never be on the bleeding edge of technology.

Thankfully one of “them” sees it our way! If enough of us protest, we could forestall the tyranny

Of course he’s right. I can’t imagine elites being forced to take some vaccine.

I would be willing to bet nowhere near the majority.
Musk actually produces things of value to society.
What percent of government spending do you think Musk(Tesla & Space X) gets?
I think it’s miniscule compared to all of the losers in our country that milk the government year after year, generation after generation.

Could ask the same question of ADM and the Military-Industrial Complex.

“Calls Bill Gates a “knucklehead”

Gates is using his fortune to build a bomb shelter for himself in New Zealand.

Musk is using his fortune to take people to Mars with Space X.

Who’s the visionary and who’s the knucklehead?

Precisely.
I always get the second or third year of a new Accord design.
I’m also extremely healthy at 45, so cost/benefit doesn’t necessitate a vaccine for me.
I’m sure others will apply cost/benefit analysis.
