"...After dinner, I'm going to reach to the back of the liquor cabinet and find that bottle of Pappy 20..."

Holy Chit! $2199 a fifth. Good on you.

I highly doubt that Senator McConnell will get this done before or even after the election.

If McConnell gets another SC Justice through the Senate before the 2020 Presidential election or next term, then he will earn a lot of respect and votes.

Just days before her death, as her strength waned, Ginsburg dictated this statement to her granddaughter Clara Spera: “My most fervent wish is that i I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”

So she didn't want to be replaced until the administration of President Pence in 2024?

RBG has been dead for a while.

How you know it’s B.S. is the time of day it’s released. On a Friday after 5pm EST.

They are just officially announcing it now because there is no way a Supreme Court Justice will be confirmed by the U.S. Senate before the next U.S. Presidential election.

This is to motivate the Democrats just like it motivated the Republicans in 2016 after the death of Scalia.

The biggest mistake the Republicans can make now is being over confident of a win like the Democrats were with Hillary in 2016.

No, the funeral is Sunday with the burial that day. Tradition.

Great timing. Biden needs to publish his list. No nomination until after the election. Best strategy is to make Biden give a list. It will just drive more voters our way.

If the President tries to ram through a replacement with only six weeks to go to the election, I think it would backfire bigly on him with the American public. Better to wait till he is reelected. This will motivate both sides to get out the vote.

As far as McConnell and Graham are concerned, it seems to me that they have done a good job these last four years on the Supreme Court and the federal judiciary, getting nominations approved.

Justice Ginsburg played the piano and Justice Scalia had a wonderful singing voice. The had similar musical tastes, so they would show up at parties and Scalia would sing while Ginsburg accompanied him on the piano.

The funny part is that, though she supported the result of Roe v. Wade, she conceded that it was improperly decided. She thought there was another, more constitutionally sound path to the same result, but conceded that there really weren't "penumbras and emanations."

Yeah... I’m going to celebrate.

Mission Accomplished: I outlived another POS.

Arlen Specter: Check.
Teddy Kennedy: Check.
Ginsburg: Check.
John Murtha: Check.
John Mcain: Check.

Let’s get another conservative in there NOW.

Elections have consequences, indeed.

What exactly does the 'music' tastes have to do with the function of defending and protecting our Constitution... What really happened to Scalia ... Ruthie sure kept her peace on why Scalia was out and about in Texas!!!!

I guess none of you would want me to attend YOUR funerals.

You’d expect me to immediately bring up all the faults and failings of your lives, instead of allowing you a few respectful moments in the face of the ‘awe-ful’ and profound moment of Death - before History tears you apart.
