If the President tries to ram through a replacement with only six weeks to go to the election, I think it would backfire bigly on him with the American public. Better to wait till he is reelected. This will motivate both sides to get out the vote.

As far as McConnell and Graham are concerned, it seems to me that they have done a good job these last four years on the Supreme Court and the federal judiciary, getting nominations approved.

Or, the hearings might make the public focus on the Senate, and if they behave as badly as they did with Kavanaugh, perhaps the public would vote out a few of them. And meanwhile, the squishy RINOs might behave themselves like true Republicans, if they're running for reelection.
