Military presses are best done bilaterally.

Unless his right hand is steadying the weight I suspect the photo is a fake.

And the size of the weight looks like it should be 80 - 100 lb...unless it is made of hardened rubber, then maybe 25 max.

lol. so, you tweeted that you were going to post this to FR for continued ridicule, and now dpnumbers won’t put it back in the pants.

I’m sure this isn’t turning out like you planned.

It’s a lot more than 50 lbs. Probably more like 100 or 105lb since they are plated. And I guarantee, you couldnt lift a 50lb dumbell sitting like that. Gym owner is right, Fredo is a fraud in that picture.

Why in the world are some of you being so nasty to each other? Just give your opinion and perspective. We are fighting the leftists, not each other.

Correct. From the angle, with that much weight, Fredo would have lost control of the dumbell and it would have fallen backwards along with Fredo. Fredo is a fraud.

This business owner is making a challenge, some may call it a rather ludicrous bet to make. Why is he doing this? Because he’s desperate. He’s treading water right now. A lot of small business owners are about to lose their entire personal investment, their livelihood and their way of life due to these prolonged shut downs.

While the rules keep changing, the rent has to be paid, even though very little income is expected. Private renters have some protection against eviction (for now), most businesses do not. I would guess liability insurance has to be kept up as well, in case a BLM’er gets hit in the head by a piece of ceiling falling out after the last Molotov has been tossed. Many of these business owners have school age children. That’s yet another layer of issues to worry about and/or try to manage.

100lbs overhead and no triceps engagement? Yeah, Mr. “Roid” Cuomo is not engaging that ‘weight’ over his head.

It is either a good business move to generate publicity or it will backfire. My guess is Cuomo will not accept the challenge.

In the picture there’s a dumbbell and also a bunch of heavy metal stuff.

Precisely. We get enough of that watching the Democrats get stupid crazy and violent when faced with disagreement.

I lift weights. Used to bulk up in my younger days. The triceps exercise that Cuomo is doing I have done before, typically with 25 lb dumbbells. There is no freaking way he could do this lift with a 100 lb dumbbell. The strongest lifters can probably do 60 or 70 lbs, but likely wouldn’t go that heavy for safety reasons.

I doubt it. It’s a 100 lb dumbbell. Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn’t do it.

I lift. Used to bulk up in college for football. No freaking way that someone could do a tricep extension with 100 lbs for multiple reps. I benched 350 in college and I did triceps extensions with 25 lbs, maybe 35 lbs. Dangerous exercise Fake dumbbell. (BTW my bench press 30 years later is down to 185!)!

He most likely took the weight with both hands, moved it over his head. Balanced it for a few seconds as he pretended to type before letting the weight fall to the side.

No way he lifted it one hand from that position with proper engagement.

That’s probably why the owner is demanding he lift it in his presence rather than claim the weight is fake. He’s cheating an exercise to look tougher.

As a former gym rat myself (about 40 pounds ago - getting old SUCKS), you’d need some formidable triceps, lats, and trap muscles to press that amount from a sitting position. Biceps aren’t the Alpha and Omega of it, they’d only get a good curl going to get the weight lateral with the shoulder for the press. Cuomo is a windbag to begin with, he doesn’t look like he has enough muscle mass to hoist anything that heavy, and I call bullshit on the whole thing.
