In Memoriam: TheRightGuy August 23, 2020

Today I have the honor of announcing the passing of TheRightGuy, aka Jeff S of Arlington Heights, IL (73 years old). Jeff leaves behind a son, a loving wife Laurie of 24 years, and many others.

TheRightGuy was an integral part of the Chicago Chapter of FreeRepublic, his enthusiasm for activism, wry sense of humor, and love of country was something to behold. I can still hear his voice and his laughter, even though it's been years since we were in person together.

Jeff epitomized conservative activism, he loved FreeRepublic, attending national conferences and chapter events because he believed that we shouldn't be the silent majority, we should be vocal.

TheRightGuy has been active on this board having joined in September of 2000. He was keen on debate, was not shy about disagreeing with others here because he knew we needed to debate the issues, not just echo them.

Yikes. Poor guy, didn't know he was sick. Now, I wish I had kept in touch with him more. Used to talk to him regularly during the Bush era. I think I was over at his house once during Keyes Senate campaign. TheRightGuy was in Arlington Heights now? I remember him hailing from Des Plains, I told him I needed to see the "world's 1st McDonalds" site the next time I was in town (which has also sadly closed now)

RedWing9, thanks for telling us. I met Jeff in Sept. 2001. How did he die? I thought his health was good.

Arlington Heights seems to be one of those American cities that still works. That has to change. Biden will see that HUD finds thousands of South Chicago's finest to relocate there. No more Arlington White's.

I will say prayers also. Today that is kind of young. I feel bad. I know we discuss health on different threads on this board but since a lot of us are past 50 now maybe we should have a general health ongoing thread. some of us don’t live the healthiest lives. I’m definitely including me in that statement. Maybe we would be able to help each other out. But this is a political website and not weight watchers :-)

once again he sounds like a true patriot and along with farmerdean and 2nddivision vet and a number of others we have lost the past few years God bless them all and Godspeed
