Supreme Court, in 5-4 ruling, strikes down restrictive Louisiana abortion law

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court ruled Monday that Louisiana's tough restriction on abortion violates the Constitution, a surprising victory for abortion rights advocates from an increasingly conservative court.

The 5-4 decision, in which Chief Justice John Roberts joined with the court's four more liberal justices, struck down a law passed by Louisiana's legislature in 2014 that required any doctor offering abortion services to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles. Its enforcement had been blocked by a protracted legal battle.

Since when did C.J. John Roberts become less liberal. He needs to go.

May he rot in hell for what he’s done. I thought he was supposed to be a Christian.

He’s really pulled the mask off, hasn’t he? For the record: I don’t see any point in thinking he is “compromised”. I think he is ideologically a Progressive.

Statement from CJ John Roberts today:

I joined the dissent in Whole Woman’s Health (Note: This is the Texas abortion case which was identical to the Louisiana case and in which Roberts dissented from the majority and joined the conservatives) and con- tinue to believe that the case was wrongly decided. The question today (i.e. Louisiana case of June 29th) however is not whether Whole Woman’s Health was right or wrong, but whether to adhere to it in deciding the present case.

I agree. The “blackmail” excuse can only go on for so long. All of his kids are adults, now, I believe so the theory that he was being blackmailed for illegal adoptions is long gone.

He’s “evolved.”

It was a law, passed by a duly-elected legislature

How the hell does “stare decisis” beat that????

Roberts will be the chief justice for at least 20 more years. Our only hope is the buzzy and sodomies both die, since neither will resign because of medical reasons.

So, really, is anyone surprised anymore? Trump needs at least two more seats on that bench.

If we could mount an impeachment process against Roberts, how would the media react? They'd be defending Roberts because they know Trump will nominate a REAL conservative to replace him ...

So abortion is “health care” until providers are forced to treat there facilities as “health care facilities.” Got it.

This is why we need Trump for 4 more years. Liberal justices are getting old. Who takes their place matters.

He is willingly doing satan’s bidding. Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. I guess this verse defines Roberts.

Interesting legal argument......too restrictive to deprive the unborn life.

Lord, in the name of your Son Jesus, remove this man from the bench with haste and create a spirit in this nation that thirsts for your truth, to walk in obedience to you.

a surprising victory for abortion rights advocates from an increasingly conservative court.

Somehow the two statements don’t appear to address any reality.
