Mr Simon, your problem... your DELUSION... is that Americans are devoted to their Party more than to their country. Yes, a "bipartisan" ticket would be a grand unifying theory (so to speak), if we were beholden to our Parties more than to our nation.
President Trump has exposed that lie for 3 years now, as has Bernie Sanders. The real story of the 2016 Primary Elections, which few ever talk about, is that almost 2/3 of all voters in America voted for someone who WASN'T a typical RNC or DNC politician. Bernie is an Independent. Trump is a CEO. Carly Fiorina was a CEO. Ben Carson, a doctor. Sen Ted Cruz has been a pariah within the RNC for years, with his Limited Government stances, and his desire to abolish the IRS. That's 80+% of the Republican Primary votes, and about 50% of the Democrat Primary vote.
The American people spoke loudly and clearly: we do NOT want the Establishment Parties in control any more!!!
So sure, go ahead and run two Establishment guys, one from each Party (actually, two Republicans, LOL) for the Democrat ticket. See how far that gets you. ROFLMBO.

I remember when Ariel Sharon was prime minister of Israel, he created a centrist party for himself, Kadima, made up of veteran politicians from the other parties. As it turned out, Kadima was only interested in perpetuating the rule of its leaders, and the party disappeared soon after Sharon did.
