I’ve learned I can appreciate the President better when I stop taking every single tweet seriously and just pay attention to his actual actions. Tweeting is just what he does, its his distraction mechanism. People who actually work with the President should learn this lesson too.

Thank you for your post.

William Barr has been A.G. for one year now, what has he accomplished? He was hired to run the Department of Justice and all he has done is coddle the FIB Directors, both former and present. Has he cleaned up the cesspool that exists in all the departments he is responsible for? Crickets & bagpipes!

The judges are from a list that mcconnell pre-aproved. No, I can not prove that, but I firmly believe it.

Sure you can prove it. What happened to Trump’s highly important DNI and Fed nominations? Etc., etc.

"But he will get good reviews here, unless he makes one bad statement against Trump, then everybody here will be ready to throw him under the bus."

I sense that most of us are now somewhat polarized by Rush's appraisal of the Stone situ, to the point that Steyn replayed Rush's whole 11-minute monologue today (which was a little weird, that Premiere is panicking about their money goose to the point of making the show do something they've never done before, which is replay full 'thought' blocs of yesterday's show, and they did it not once but twice today); and now we're invested in seeing Stone either probated or pardoned.

And yeah, your scenario is not far-fetched given Stone is a blowhard, which was Rush's assertion of a mitigating factor to begin with.

Now the talking point “Muh, Barr is Trump’s Svengali!” is DEAD, KAPUT. Barr is free to haul ass now.

Yeah, no. Dems won’t miss a beat. They could care less what Barr says.

However, the GOP Senate will use this to obstruct POTUS and continue providing him the absolute minimum of support. Guaranteed.

You assume barr is not part of the deep state. I think you should look at barr’s history. He is an original member of the deep state and part of the bush legacy.

____________

I know Barr's history well.

And over my 73 years I have seen just a few politicians and others in such positions go in a very different and positive directions as they enter their latter years.

Barr looked to me like he had the past months.

This is not that bad, it’s like mom or dad on the sidelines shouting advice to the kid with the football: “Pass...run...hit ‘em”. The kid just wants the parents to shut up.

The Justice department AND FBI, CIA are far more guilty of their actions than Stone YET they are still walking around AND have not been convicted of a damn thing!! As far as I am concerned Manafort, Flynn, and Stone should be given the SAME justice as Brennon, Clapper, Comey, Page, Strozk, Clinton............which was NO JUSTICE at all!!! I don’t give a damn at this point if Stone is guilty!!!

Stone was guilty.

But he will get good reviews here, unless he makes one bad statement against Trump, then everybody here will be ready to throw him under the bus.

Interestingly, the witness who Stone is accused of “tampering with” doesn’t feel that he is guilty. But I suppose you and the Dirty Democrats assaulting him for supporting POTUS know better.

What happened to Trump’s highly important DNI and Fed nominations?

Rep. John Ratcliffe I believe. He would have been outstanding, but mcconnell would not allow it.

So, why go? I’m not going to dump on Barr, yet ...

To give the GOP, Senate in particular, cover to continue obstructing POTUS. Barr works for McConnell and the GOP. Anything he does for POTUS is secondary to his mission.

I do not think Barr should resign nor should Trump say anything about stuff currently going on in the DOJ...after he is re-elected in November, he can start PARDONING both Flynn and this guy.

“For those that can’t CLEARLY see a Trump Trap at this point, that’s too bad.”

Bingo.

I don’t trust Barr, but this has all the indications of being a massive troll/trap of the media, the Never-Trumpers, and all who don’t support the President’s mission. And they have taken the bait, the line and the sinker...

I wonder if any of the Freepers calling for Barr to “do his job” even know what the U.S. Attorney General’s job is.

Why? DOJ is an Executive branch department. Should Trump shut the $^^_$$ up about HUD, etc.?

That would be a valid point, but unlike any other executive branch department, the U.S. Justice Department routinely prosecutes cases under the oversight of another Federal branch of government (the Judiciary). This means the U.S. Attorney General should not conduct himself the same way an ordinary political appointee like the HUD Secretary or Defense Secretary does.

Even a mere perception of political involvement in court cases can completely undermine the prosecution of those cases. President Trump does his AG -- and himself -- no favors by posting public rants about active cases.

And it's worth noting that the term "active cases" is critical here ... because that's really the only thing AG Barr is complaining about.

Barr should understand the President can and will say what he will, regardless if he like its or not.
Enough is Enough.
Really we are talking about Roger Stone’s heavy handed sentencing.
Why shouldn’t the President comment on this.

I thought Matthew Whitaker did an outstanding job as acting A/G between Sessions and Barr. So much so, that HE should have been selected.

Matthew Whitaker was appointed to the AG post on a temporary basis under the provisions of the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998. This is how he was able to serve in the AG role without Senate confirmation. I believe there is a stipulation of the Vacancies Reform Act that says a person serving temporarily in a role like this without Senate confirmation cannot be nominated to fill that same role permanently.
