Barr: Trump's tweets make it 'impossible for me to do my job'

Attorney General William Barr told ABC News in an interview aired Thursday that President Trump had never asked him to do anything in a criminal case but advised the president to stop tweeting about the Justice Department, saying it makes it “impossible for me to do my job.”

The remarks are a significant and rare public break by the attorney general from the president, following days of controversy surrounding the Justice Department’s decision to lessen a sentence for Trump ally Roger Stone after the president tweeted about his displeasure with the gravity of the original sentence recommendation.

“I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” Barr told ABC in the interview.

If he doesn’t do his job Trump should put in Sekalow or DeGenova. We need a pit bull in that spot

The Dept of Justice (sic) are a bunch of prima donnas who believe they should be unaccountable.

They strain at the gnats (like tweets) but swallow whole camels (manufacture evidence, lie, backstab, Comey et al).

They are frauds, just like judges are.

Barr would have more credibility if even ONE of his peers was brought to account, that is, in PRISON.

If Barr doesn’t like it, then he ought to quit and let someone serious about reform take over.

Barr had to say that publicly, to distance himself and appear independent. Plus, maybe Trump will shut the hell up a little bit. He doesn’t have to spout off every time he has a thought.

Trump is merely speaking for all of us who see that Crimes by democrats and crimes by bureaucrats and politicians never seem to be punished. But if a conservative commits a crime, your in jail for the rest of your life. Somebody has to speak out.

One has to wonder why Barr didn’t tell the president this in private, instead of on Fake News ABC?

Barr’s comment ironically makes it hard for Trump to do his job.

Stone is making Barr’s job “harder”, too. Me thinks he’s egging on POTUS to pardon Stone ASAP and take that headache off his bagpipe concert schedule.

For those that can’t CLEARLY see a Trump Trap at this point, that’s too bad. I say this because it’s so much fin to watch them fall for it.

Could Barr be putting this out there to make it clear he’s not just doing the president’s bidding?

Could be.

If Barr is playing the media and Democrats it's a brilliant move.

We'll have to wait for the hearings to find out if this is an error or a home run.

Barr is just pissed Trump tweets about Democrats. Barr hasn’t taken action on democrat crimes and corruption.

How can the rats impeach a president in two months but in two years Comey, McCabe and the rest are still walking free selling books and doing tv appearances trashing Trump.

Two years? Over 3 years now in Trump admin and nearing 4-5 years since these Democrat crimes. And Barr’s issue is with POTUS calling out the partisan Democrats at his DOJ? Ridiculous.

“Art of War”

Read it when I was pregnant with my first, along with the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers and tons of political theories.

The Mueller Coup was launched 3 years ago with top cover from the GOP Senate. The Stone prosecution is an extention of that. Same Dirty Democrats back at DOJ are now assaulting Trump supporters. POTUS has every right to shine a light on the coup when Bagpipe Bill and his cohorts at DOJ do nothing to stop it.

Nice is how we got this awful place in history. No more nice. You can nice your way into a boxcar then a concentration camp.

Agree.

Republicans trying to be nice and get along and not make waves has gotten us into this political/cultural mess.

The people who voted for Trump were tired of the concessions and wanted someone to punch back.

Trump does not know how or when to be silent. His mouth may yet undo all his good.

I think everyone is over thinking this. It is not all that unusual for a superior and his subordinate to get crosswise.

Barr made that statement, and I assume it is an honest sentiment, public to give himself cover for upcoming events.

You're right. It's not unusual. Especially in the Trump Administration. And when things do get crosswise....

People - lots of people - get escorted off the property.

IMO - Barr is Dead Man Walking.
