No Romney?
Where’s Mitt? I though for sure he would be on that list.
I wouldn’t vote for it, because any time you pre-emptively limit the president’s powers, you embolden the enemy, which is dangerous, but I agree with the idea of not going into a ground war with anyone in the middle east unless it’s an absolute last-resort necessity.
An absence of fidelity.
That said, Trump will just veto this legislation and it would take 2/3 of both houses of congress to override.
Jerry Moran you NEVER hear his name unless he involved with stupid crap like this.
Truly Worthless.
Why vote on this, we are NOT going to war with Iran..so this is what the Senate wastes their time with, voting on something that hasn’t even happened and wont happen
IIRC, Nam was not declared. Korea was not declared
Nice try Mitt. It won’t help you now....
Who cares? So they slapped Trump on the wrist. The War Powers resolution isnt going anywhere.
A resolution is not legislation; doesn’t mean a thing to curb the power of the president.
And it will be vetoed just like it was last year. Useless grandstanding by the Swamp whores
Great, now I have to actually agree with Romney? Darn...
It wasn’t these 9 Republicans who “curbed Trump’s war powers.”
It was the Founding Fathers. The Constitution gives the power to launch war with Congress, not the President. I like Trump, but he has to abide by the Constitution.
The Founders didn’t like the way European kings could - on their own - commit their nations to war. The Founders set up a Republic, where the legislative body was given that awesome responsibility.
Ww2 was the last “declared “ war we were in.
Soleimani fan club.
“Great, now I have to actually agree with Romney?”
Romney follows a neocon foreign policy, very aggressive interventionist. His advisors when he ran for president included Bolton and Max Boot. They seemed to want a war with Iran, which is one of the reasons I didn’t vote for him and was happy that he lost. The Iraq was disastrous enough, we didn’t need another.
to make America look weak and to attempt to weaken President Trump.
It's about perception.
