A former NFL player who once raised money for Barack Obama says a political "awakening" among African-Americans is underway that could translate into President Trump winning 20% of the black vote in 2020.
Jack Brewer, now a businessman who formerly played for the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals, said the move to Trump is easily explained by policies that are making life better for his children, the Washington Times reported.
"There is a tremendous awakening going on right now in the country," he said regarding black voters who have traditionally voted Democrat.
Trump received just 8% of the black vote in 2016. But two polls in November found approval for Trump among blacks had reached 34%.

Huge swings in black voter %, means little in a low black area or state.
Trump understood that the election wasn't one race, but 50 separate ones.
Trump needs to see huge swings of black voters in blue or purple states.
Hispanics are not a block vote... Cubans are overwhelmingly GOP. South Americans is my family were in the Trump Train before I was.

Correct, those with fame will not face a juggernaut they can not stop for fear of shame if not twice shame.
Blacks need to realize that Democrats have kept them in the ghetto for years with measly welfare payments rather than promoting self-sufficiency, better jobs, and a promising life. Democrats voted against the Civil Rights Amendment and fought to keep slavery intact. It’s great to see some Blacks are seeing the truth.
The Number of 20% is actually a 40% shift because it is a zero sum gain. The Republicans gain 20% and the Democrats lose 20% Making a 40 % margin.
Years ago I actually studied the situation and determined that around 12% was the certain tipping point. The democrats couldn’t survive a 12% loss.
The exact % has a lot of variables associated but it should be the maximum allowable loss even with the variables. The figure could be as low as 10%under some circumstances
Maybe he won’t get 34% of the vote, but if 20% or so of those that voted for Barry decide to just stay home this year . . . that will more than make up for what he is lacking.
The overall percentage is less important than the percentages in the swing states.

I'm sorry; but, for blacks to be supporting a Republican by any double-digit number IS impressive. They usually go, almost, 100% Democrat.
I think his speech in Detroit, when he was candidate Trump, started to make them actually think about what the Dem party has NOT done for them.
The question he asked, "what have you got to lose?", was right on point and made them start quesitoning.
I think I read once that if the Dem party lost 20% of the black vote, they would never be elected to anything again. So, that 20% is bigger than you seem to think.

Unless there is a credible conservative answer to challenge Telemundo and Univision among the latino community, it will not matter. Latinos will continue to parrot what those two media outlets preach.
