A former NFL player who once raised money for Barack Obama says a political "awakening" among African-Americans is underway that could translate into President Trump winning 20% of the black vote in 2020.
Jack Brewer, now a businessman who formerly played for the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals, said the move to Trump is easily explained by policies that are making life better for his children, the Washington Times reported.
"There is a tremendous awakening going on right now in the country," he said regarding black voters who have traditionally voted Democrat.
Trump received just 8% of the black vote in 2016. But two polls in November found approval for Trump among blacks had reached 34%.

From 8% to 20%...that is a HUGE shift and more than sufficient to eviscerate the Democrats.

you’re failing to recognize that the electorate of 2016 will not be the same one for 2020; a meager increase in black male vote will not offset an increased overall black turnout, which is likely a given in 2020...also, a large cohort of Trump support, elderly whites, have seen its ranks thinned by death in that four year window... additionally, we will have an entire new bloc of people in the 18-21 year-olds who could not vote in 2016, who will more motivated by propaganda than its 2016 counterpart...
20% of Hillary’s votes were from black voters. If President Trump can draw 20% of the black vote instead of just 8%, that is almost the margin of his 2016 popular vote loss. If Trump can pull 30% support from black voters, that would put him outside the margin of fraud even for democrats and union thugs.
Thanks (NOT) to vegas, NV will probably not be turning around anytime soon. The numbers in LV pretty much make the rest of the state moot. Toss in Washoe county (Reno/Truckee Meadows) and it’s leftward trend and it’s toast time. As in burnt toast.
You’re mistaken. Without the black vote there would barely be any Democrats in office. That’s their margin of victory. If Trump picks up 4% more black vote, and if other blacks just don’t vote,that can be his margin of victory in several states. It can also bury other Democrats on the ballot.

Blacks didn’t turn out for Hillary like they did for Obama. After Obama didn’t live up to their expectations, I’m not convinced they’d turn out at the same level for Mikey.

you are neglecting the fact that black turnout in the urban areas of PA and MI was significantly less in 2016; should overall black turnout increase, the loss in the male sector will be offset by the increase in the females...and that assumes that the white trump cohort that went for Trump in 2016 remains as cohesive, a large assumption...
Actually Blacks did turnout for Hillary, it was the Latino turnout that killed Hillary!

it’s an axiomatic truth...the easy acceptance of slavery has left this country with social ills which will never go away...this is evidenced by the bald-faced demonization of whites which is championed by the media...
20% may be ambitious, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in double digits.
It’s a process; it doesn’t happen all at once. I liken it to air leaking out of a tire. It’s slow, almost unnoticeable, at first, but as it goes along, it gains momentum and starts moving faster, until one day, the tire is flat and nobody quite knows how it happened.
