Did business trips for years & years there...it was in no way the rudest place I’ve ever visited.

Sad to say that would be my hometown of Boston.

I find that the “rudest” New Yorkers are not real New Yorkers to begin with. Most of the rude ones are from “Buttfu*k” and relocate to New York. Most of the rude ones are flaming liberals with no regard for humanity. I am a native New Yorker and never have been rude to a tourist, shopkeeper or anyone else in all my life

Back in 2000, I had a contract there for three weeks. Got into a punch-up with a crazy guy in Times Square on my first night in the city. After that, most everyone I met was great. They were nice, cordial, and helpful. Even ran into some great cops who helped me out when I got myself turned around in Chinatown. Loud? YEAH! Expletive addicts? Sure as s**t! But I sure wouldn’t call ‘em rude. What’d the Dems do to the place?!

But don’t get me started on San Franscico. Just... no.

The problem with New York City is that unlike LA and San Francisco, New York can not be destroyed totally by an earth quake

Wife and I spent 4 years in Ft Dix, NJ. Every time we said "Please" or "Thank you" the most common answer was "You're not from around here, are ya?"

I had a 19 year old waitress threaten to kick my ass for calling her "Ma'am". I told her I was more afraid of my Daddy's backhand than anything she could do to me.

This is 100% true, particularly after the mid 1980s when all the out of state liberals started invading. I grew up there and there is not enough money in this universe to ever make me even consider moving back, it is absolutely the leftist a*shole capital of the world.

Just as an example, they all whine and complain about what a nightmare Cuomo and DeBlasio are and what do they do? They reelect them! Now Cuomo being the leftist a*shole he is got rid of bail for criminals and now the liberals are whining about that!

There was one story in the NY Post the other day, this crook tried to burn down a dorm in Yeshiva University and he got arrested and released without bail per Andrew Cuomo. Then the same day he was arrested again for breaking into a house and threatening to stab someone. Arrested again, released without bail AGAIN as per Andrew Cuomo. Yet they’ll reelect this mo fo! Why? Because it’s the leftist a*shole capital of the world!

Robin Williams many years ago had this bit about NYC:

The New York Echo
“Hello!”
“Shut the F up!”

Born and raised in Queens NYC. I’ve also lived in Florida, Long Island, Upstate NY and now Pennsylvania.

New Yorkers are the friendliest, most generous.

Pennsylvanians are mostly rude, grumpy, and unfriendly.

There, I said it.

Man 1: Try looking up hayseed.

Man 2: You wanna sightsee? Get on a bus.

Mary Anne: Please don't think all New Yorkers are so rude.

George: Well actually I'm...

Mary Anne: I'm Mary Anne. I work for the New York Visitor's Center. Where are you visiting from?

George: Little Rock, Arkensas.

Mary Anne: Ooh.

I was born in NYC and lived in the Bronx as did all my cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Sisters and Brothers.

I believe I can speak for New Yorkers when I say the top 3 responses when informed they were considered the rudest.

In order of frequency those responses would be:

“I got your rude right here (grabs genitals)

“Rude THIS! (grabs genitals)

“Yer mama”

Rudest?

They must be thinking about the NYC labor union members.

I used to think that, but a visit to them demonstrated otherwise on many occasion. They may be firm and express their convictions, but we have some truly rude a-holes from coast to coast, including flyover country. Also, best not to paint with wide brushes.

I can’t really say New York City is the rudest city in the United States because I haven’t visited all of them. I went to a Columbia University in the mid 1950s for a number of years and was shocked at how New Yorker spoke to each other in traffic. They can also be amusing companions. I’ve had a number of very polite New York friends whom I like very much, but I have to admit that New York City residents in general, when dealing with people they don’t know, are the rudest people I’ve ever encountered in my eighty-seven years. I’ve found that Brits can be rude to each other too, and pass it off as banter.
