I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.
I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.
I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.
He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want
If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.
What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.
He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.
Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose
I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.
I hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet
We all lost a dedicated American. Worth a thousand times more to our country than most of the millennial crap I see in the streets of DC, no. Virginia. At least we have my son, combat vet, 3rd ID, Iraq, and son-in-law, 4th Marine Div., Iraq. The new generation of American guardians. RIP, 2nd Div. Soldier.
God rest his soul.
I’ll Excuse_Your_Lack_of_Bellicosity...this time...
LOL
Rest In Peace, 2nd Div.
You will now find that all the keyboards have perfect spelling, the servers never crash, and the quarterly fund drive ends after just a few minutes. You will also have the time to read all the posts, which are all now witty and thoughtful and informative.
You will be greatly missed on our version, though.
LOL
OMG!!!
That is so true!
Thank you.
He was a good buddy.
It took years of posting back and forth before I really got to know him.
He was a proud guy and it took a long time to get past the soldier and to the man.
Once that happened, he had Incredible stories to share and I saw the lighter hearted side of him.
That was only in the past year maybe.
His dry quips were VERY funny and I would laugh out loud many times. :)
I will miss him very much.
on odd age we live in that you can feel so bad about someone you’ve never seen or heard.
But words can be a powerful way to communicate.
God Bless You Vet.
Well, God bless him. I thought I posted to one of his threads just yesterday, but looking at his ‘homepage’ I guess his last post was on the 3rd.
He will be missed.
It warms my heart to see SO MANY posts here.
He’s irreplaceable. Certainly one of a kind.
And it was an honor to get to know him.
[2ndDivisionVet has passed away.]
Dang, I knew he had health problems but didn’t expect this. I was just posting to him seems like a week ago or so.
RIP
We are known by our words.
His last post was indeed on the 3rd and I received a PM from him

OMG! I just read on FB. He will be truly missed. Prayers and Condolences to his wife.
You’re right.
Especially here where words are all we have to get to know a person.
I pictured a big, burly guy, serious but with a sense of humor.
He would make me laugh out loud with his one liners :)
I had to look - He and I posted to each other just a little over two weeks ago. I scanned quickly so many have missed other things.
Dang.
Yes. He was a very recognizable poster here. He will be missed. RIP :(
He will be impossible to replace...his posting history will show that just by itself.
He was a good guy....
He is impossible to replace.
VERY unique individual.
That’s a good thing.
I wouldn’t want to.
He was one of our heavy lifters and will be sorely missed. I really enjoyed his posts and resposes.
Jesus has him now.
800!
