If President Trump doesn’t demonstrate the leadership that America needs, then it is time for a new person in the Oval Office.
Last week I attended two memorable events that reminded me why we care so very much about this nation and also why our future may be in peril.
The first was a change of command ceremony for a storied Army unit in which one general officer passed authority to another. The second event was an annual gala for the Office of Strategic Services (O.S.S.) Society that recognizes past and present members of the intelligence and Special Operations community for their heroism and sacrifice to the nation. What struck me was the stark contrast between the words and deeds heralded at those events — and the words and deeds emanating from the White House.

And if this president doesn’t understand their importance, if this president doesn’t demonstrate the leadership that America needs, both domestically and abroad, then it is time for a new person in the Oval Office — Republican, Democrat or independent — the sooner, the better. The fate of our Republic depends upon it.

Well, duh...obviously a true statement but based on big "ifs" - with no offer of examples Trump has failed in either sense.

In my estimation the OSS was a necessary evil but still an evil. It allowed British agents to act on US soil, a real loathsome occurrence if you think about it. And it birthed the CIA, now an organization I don’t think can be saved.

And OSS was disbanded immediately after the war. Truman knew it had no place in American government. But then the deep state swung into action and got the CIA created. Supposedly as a “clearing house” collating and organizing intel from all government sources and making it orderly for presentation to the President.
It was not meant as a spy agency or as an operational black military unit. And it certainly was not meant as a policy making organization. After they assassinated JFK, Truman immediately penned an OpEd saying how they had had become malignant, needed drastic rooting out, and he regretted ever creating them.

As you read it, realize it was published 3 weeks after JFK was buried. When JFK was murdered, Truman ran to his typewriter and wrote this. Pretty telling.

The NYT is an affront to individual liberty. Always has been and always will be.
Nothing gets into that paper by accident. The only news that fits to print is propaganda that advances the globalist agenda. So if they publish an article praising the dea or fbi, cia etc., and even if it actually is something positive for country, we need to realize that they’re only interested in protecting a key deep state institution.
