A 12-year-old Kansas girl was arrested – as in, hauled out of school in handcuffs, charged with a crime, and was handed a court date – for making a “finger gun” and pointing it at fellow students.
According to the Kansas City Star, police in Overland Park “hauled her out of school in handcuffs, arrested her and charged the child with a felony for threatening” after the middle-schooler pointed the “finger gun” at other students before pointing it at herself.
Johnson County District Court documents obtained by the Kansas City Star claim the child “unlawfully and feloniously communicated a threat to commit violence, with the intent to place another, in fear, or with the intent to cause the evacuation, lock down or disruption in regular, ongoing activities.”
According to the news outlet, the whole thing started when a fellow student asked the girl “if she could kill five people in the class, who would they be?” The girl then allegedly pointed her fingers in the shape of a gun at several other students in the class. The teacher sent her to the principal’s office, where the school resource officer recommended she be arrested.
She was eventually turned over to her mother and hearing in the Juvenile Division of the District Court of Johnson County is scheduled for Tuesday. The child’s family was reportedly told that if convicted of a felony, she could face up to a year in a juvenile detention center.
Nowadays they’d be arresting kids for playing ‘Cowboys and Indians’.

My friends and I decades ago played World War II games , in which we had teams of Japs and Gerries. Holy moly, we would all be arrested nowadays for that.

Phew- another dangerous criminal off the streets- thank goodness for the bravery of the authorities who no doubt charged right in, no concerns for their own safety, to call the cops on this young delinquent- Just imagine if she had flashed an ‘assault finger’

So I guess “western day” where everyone dresses up like cowboys and indians is really out these days. The teacher was very strict and collected up all the cap guns until recess.

There may be more to the story. But this sounds like something that should be settled in the principal’s office, and not something where law enforcement gets involved.
Lone wolves are walking the street. Known to the police. Known to the FBI. But magically untouchable.
But little girls with hand gestures? Oh, we lock them up right away.

I don’t know of a school here in sacramento that allows dodge ball anymore.
Elementary school in the early 80’s we use to play the incredibly un-PC game of smear the queer. Holy cow, any kid playing that now would go directly to jail. Automatic 10 year sentence.

change the school administration by changing the school board. Elect conservatives to school boards; and city and county councils. Get in there and fight for right!!

Can’t help but laugh, but this is just more insanity the Libs have perpetrated on society.
Libs get away with it — until they are confronted. The school and associated ‘resource officer’ should be inundated with protest complaints.
