ISIS only exists because the U.S. invaded these sovereign countries and completely undermined — even toppled — the governments that were perfectly capable of maintaining order within their borders.

Allies in name only? The bunch that came up with INSTEX? No, they’re the with-allies-like-these-who-needs-enemies variety of ally.

I don’t know if there is ever a good time to get our troops out of that region. Furthermore, there is not a good time for any decisions he makes due to his opposition in congress throwing the kitchen sink at him.

Watching the neocons squealing, Do I see a Romney/Haley ticket in the future.

Joke will be on them because the Democrats will have spent all the money on social programs.

If Turkey gets kicked out of NATO, I don’t see a problem.

Remember that France on more than one occasion has not been a willing NATO member.

This is why all the military equipment we sell to marginally loyal allies should be equipped with a hidden remote disable device. It doesn’t have to be much, just a bit of code in the processors that permanently corrupts the operating system.

Yep, just like China has in all the chips and circuit boards sold to the US military. Sad isn’t it?

Your military friends apparently have extensive experience is Islamic sh!t-holes, even while this country is facing an invasion of 100,000+ peasants across our southern border every month. That alone tells me that disbanding the U.S. armed forces — certainly the Army, at least — as we know them may be necessary in the long run.

He got blasted by Fed Powell. Waiting for the retaliation tweet

from cnbc:

Fed Chair Powell has delivered a speech in which he quotes from a plaque emphasizing the central bank’s independence from politics: “The management of the central bank must be absolutely free from the dangers of control by politics and by private interests, singly or combined.”

Necessity is the mother of invention.

Congress Officially Created the U.S. Military September 29, 1789 In its very first session, the United States Congress had a lot of decisions to make. One important topic the first representatives and senators needed to address was establishing the U.S. military. There already was a colonial army--the Continental Army--that had fought the British in the American Revolution and won under General George Washington. But this army was not the official army of the United States.

Finally, on September 29, 1789, the last day of its first session, the U.S. Congress passed an act to establish the United States military. However, this happened only after President Washington reminded them, twice!

That’s why we don’t intervene militarily in Syria.

ISIS was one of the most savage and monstrous forces to emerge in the world in many decades. The Kurds did most of the front line fighting to defeat them and we provided vital support and materiel, with the commitment of a fairly small number of troops. And Trump has said much about how he smashed ISIS.

That was a worthwhile achievement and we should not abandon the folks who did most of the fighting. And it would be a pretty small commitment to keep a presence in the one area.
