Anchorage Daily News reports that Todd Palin, the husband of former Alaska governor and GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has filed for divorce.
In a document filed Friday in Anchorage Superior Court, Todd Palin, 55, asked to dissolve the marriage, citing an incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife.

Agreed.
Grey divorce...its a thing. Statically common unfortunately. I guess the post was just acknowledging this fact.
Thank you for the good sense and decency.
.... I liked the way they looked at each other. Here is hoping they can get back together if they wish.
And please don't tell me that a "strong marriage" wouldn't crash and burn, as this one now has, because for the vast majority of marriages, yes, even the strongest, enduring what they have, would break it; if not with far worse happenings, other than just a divorce!
Thank you; my post was just common sense, which seems to have mostly disappeared from this site...sadly.
Incompatibility of temperament sounds vague.
I have to wonder if having a special needs child, Trig? Is playing into it.
I have seen that destroy marriages before.
And it wasn’t phony...the way Hill&Bill were once photographed looking at each other.
You’re correct; I’ve seen that too.
Or just as likely, male mid-life crisis.
I sincerely doubt it was “just like that”...these things don’t just happen...they fester over time...
I’m wondering how much disruption the ‘male menopause’ causes to marriages. Men of a certain age can sometimes go bloody bonkers.
Oh, yeah. “Lifestyles of the rich and famous.” This one is from 2011.
Todd Palin ‘will file for divorce and advisers tell Sarah White House dream is over’ after release of explosive biography

Most of the time, I avoid reading about celebrities. Dirty laundry stinks, and it’s bad for the mind.
I’ve never been as big a fan of her as others here were.
None the less I did like some things that she did, and felt that she got some raw deals along the way, especially from that WANKER she ran with and his crew.
I’m sorry to hear this. I like others in life to have a smooth path at home. I wish them well, and it saddens me to hear hear her and Todd have come to the end of their rope.
You know, people just need to back off a little, put things in perspective, and try to act like adults for the kids.
It’s very seldom easy for kids to deal with a split of mom and dad. There are exceptions, but they’ll carry the weight with them for the rest of their lives.
Yours is the most sane post on this subject so far. Divorce is never easy on anyone, especially the kids, even when they are grown. I deeply respect Sarah Palin for her grit and determination. Shes a fighter. Absolutely no one here knows the situation between her and her husband. The stats are against them as it is with anyone else who is married. Lots of hand wringing projection going on. The bottom line is its a private matter and I wish them both well in the days ahead.
Thanks. I appreciate your comments too.
No, it is never easy on anyone.
I’d like to see a survey of people who though greener pastures were the only choice, after five years of their freedom.
I’ve always thought, you either grow up in the first marriage, or you have to face growing up in the second, or third...
It would be interesting how many folks would have acted differently then they did in the ending days of their marriage.
Or painfully enough.
No need to call the op, or myself for that fact, names - ignorant or otherwise. Marriages are black holes. No one but the primaries really know what goes on inside them. Everyone acknowledges the tragic nature of their divorce and people are going to speculate. Its only natural. The were important figures in the conservative movement.
Not surprising. Sarah lost me a long time ago when she resigned as Gov and then her families histrionics, her reality tv show, one episode with (Kate plus Eight) and the arrests of some of her kids.
I still love her.
