Is there a "gay gene"? Major new study says no

There's no such thing as a single "gay gene" that drives a person's sexual behavior, concludes the largest genetic study ever conducted on the issue. Instead, a person's attraction to those of the same sex is shaped by a complex mix of genetic and environmental influences, similar to what's seen in most other human traits, researchers report.
"This is a natural and normal part of variation in our species," said researcher Ben Neale, director of genetics with the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. "That should also support the position that we shouldn't try and develop gay cures. That's not in anyone's interest."
The international study focused on the genetic profiles of nearly 480,000 people from the United States and the United Kingdom, a group approximately 100 times larger than any previous study of the link between genetics and same-sex attraction, said lead researcher Andrea Ganna, a research fellow with the Massachusetts General Hospital's Analytical and Translational Genetic Unit.

“Gay Gene” sounds like that uncle that can never be left around children.
Theres nothing natural or normal about it. Its triggered by trauma and abusive homosexual experiences, largely.

The writer ( and regular debate protagonist of conservative author Bill Buckley ), GORE VIDAL was gay himself.
He however, refused to be called homosexual and insisted that we are all potentially bi-sexual.
Writing for an edition of Esquire magazine in 1969, he wrote:

This for me, explains why a lot of gay activists want schools to “educate” children to “find” their own innate sexuality. They want company. The more, the better.

The 13th research question addressed, of homosexual men who have been molested, what percentage were molested before self-identification as homosexual men, and what percentage were molested after self-identification as homosexual? Of homosexual men who were molested, 68% were molested before self-identification as homosexual, and 32% were molested after self-identification as homosexual.

Nearly universally gay men were sexually abused by a homosexual pedophile/pederast when they were young.
I do not know if the same can be said of gay women.

I think it’s triggered by people thinking it’s cool...
This confirms that sexual orientation is not fixed and immutable and that conversion therapy can and does work in many instances for those with unwanted same sex attraction disorder.
