CA is Home but it’s no longer the Home I grew up in.
Add to that, the push to get rid of single family zoning. Get rid of the nuclear family and home ownership.
I don't understand this "leaving fee" talk. Once you become a citizen of another state (DL or voter registration), how can your former state charge you a fee/fine for anything? How can they even collect it? There is NO fedgov law about this, so it's a State's Rights issue. Does AZ and NV have some type of agreement with CA?
It was sort of a bit of satire where CA is taxing just about everything causing people to leave the state since they can no longer afford to live there; so I’ll bet they’d even tax people to leave the state and they’d know this when a CA DL was returned. Again this is only satire with some sarcasm added.
I’ve read many times that the socialists in Sacramento, CA have been considering such an exit fee for some time.
CA needs to pass a departure tax...to keep folks there.
IIRC NY has passed similar legislation.
CAs are coming to TX, in droves.
Maybe they’ll set up those inspection type stations on all roads leading out of CA and start charging an exit tax regardless if you’re a citizen of CA since you availed or could have availed yourself of CA’s gov’t services.
Monkey county maryland does. We had to pay 5% of home sale price to the LIB criminals several years ago.

Not true for me. I know a lot of people who are more “apolitical” and only vote D because they are clueless enough to think that is the socially correct thing to do, who are also priced out of CA and have left or want to go where they will have a better quality of life. But conservatives here in CA talk ab0ut it more! That is for sure.
